This information came out last night, but I didn't want to disrupt the livestream conversation.

Ferguson PR consultant told city officials he had a college degree; now he says he doesn't

In his application to the city of Ferguson, and on his profile in the LinkedIn social network, James claimed he had earned a bachelor of science in psychology and biomedical engineering from the University of Memphis in 2003.

James in an Aug. 19 letter to Ferguson City Manager John Shaw that he had organized a "4 year strategic plan to build regional awareness" that drew support from, among others, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley.

James, who has said he is continuing to work for Ferguson without pay, told a reporter in an email that he had "a lot to do" helping the city set up the town hall meetings with city residents set for tonight.

what a charlatan !!! Convicted felony plus lying about his education

Ferguson will never be the same now that the businesses are pulling out & taking their tax base with them

What I don't get is the protesters say they are afraid of the police and afraid that the police are going to shoot their children dead in the street for being black BUT they bring these children to protests where there are police with guns?? Really?

agreed - very hypocritical IMHO (using the kids as shields so to speak)

HUGE movement by the mobsters to boycott Ferguson's businesses which is a shame when most are not even from Ferguson or even StL metro; take a look at North StL City for the future of North County

One of their demands of Chief Jackson is to place ODW in prison  see, this is not even possible as it has nothing to do with Ferguson PD -- ignorance cannot be used an excuse IMHO

yeah, I don't see ODW being indicted for doing his job

Even though these protestors are causing a lot of problems for law abiding citizens in Ferguson, LE, and businesses, it helps to see a poll like this, showing the vast majority of people do not advocate a rush to judgement, as reflected in the residents who challenged the protestors in conversation outside Faraci's.

Approximately 39K votes, 78% say that Darren Wilson should not be arrested.

WOW - and from an MSNBC poll that's telling to me

"We have to do a better job of educating our young folk," says @SenatorNasheed. Also better jobs, opportunities esp for ex-cons #Ferguson

Yes. Talking about education now

In Ferguson, protesters and police forced to learn as they go amid continued standoff

SNIPPED for space

“People are angrier now than ever before,” said Patricia Bynes, the Democratic committeewoman for Ferguson Township.

“I just pray there is an indictment,” Moore responded. “If not, I don’t know if we’ll be okay.”

“It’s personal,” she said. “I was 6 years old when the police killed my dad.”

Her father, William Darnell Harlston, was shot by an off-duty St. Louis officer in 2001. Harlston, according to media reports, had robbed two men selling stuffed animals.

“All I know was he went to get beers and never came back,” Jones said. “So I’m going to fight for Mike Brown, and for him, and for me.”

Long interesting read. It's not surprising that some of the protestors breaking the law and wishing death on LE have criminal records (Bassem, Shahid, Vickers) or their family does, which just makes me think of Michael. There's a resentment toward authority and consequences among some in that area.

BBM above: NOTE she is one of the voices to get McCulloch to stand aside from the GJ because his father was killed by a black man.

I don't understand double-standards

"Growing up in south St. Louis City, being one of a dozen female members of a teenage gang and ending up taking trips to the juvenile detention center, Sen. Jamilah Nasheed’s unconventional past did not stop when she reached adulthood.
After being “pushed-out” of the St. Louis public school system during her high school years, Jamilah started to change, she said, transitioning from being a “disturbed a kid to being an aware adult.”

Where did Nasheed's parents go wrong? Why did she join a gang? What behavior did she exhibit that resulted in her being "pushed-out" of school?

don't want to de-rail this thread but this is a decent history of Nasheed http://themissouritimes.com/2983/from-the-projects-to-the-capitol/

After “escaping” the Vietnam War, her father was killed in a drive-by shooting while gambling near the Pruitt-Igoe, a housing development downtown that was later demolished in the late 1960’s. The untimely death of her father happened while her mother was still pregnant with her and her twin brother.

StL was the 4th largest city in America in 1900 & now is it even in the top 25? But little has changed except the crime rate & population of the County -- the history of StL is fascinating & there are many great books about StL.

In any event, Nasheed should stay in her own district IMHO & make some changes/fight for change

adding: talk about Gerrymandering -- this area is ripe in it

"Our hope is to begin identifying ways to increase respect and communication between law enforcement and the communities they protect," said Koster.

Koster also announced the creation of a dedicated website for the roundtable, where members of the public are encouraged to submit comments and questions that will be used to form the topics of discussion. The website and comment form can be found online.

Ironic, given the particular venom and dox'ing against the black officers. Some infamous names on that list. Guess they benefit from instigating by raising their profile and are validated by being invited to the table.

Not only is that poll heartening as well as enlightening - it is an MSNBC Poll!!! I would expect that poll to have a more liberal lean to it and so I am thinking that the actual number pro DW not being arrested to be much higher than even that.
