Missouri State Senator Maria Chappell- Nadal defended her tweet stating there was a rumor that the grand jury had made a decision whether to charge Darren Wilson in the shooting death of MIchael Brown, Jr.

For anyone coming in late, both McCulloch and Magee from the prosecutor's office publicly stated this was false. See her Darren Wilson answer in video.

"About 220,000 outstanding warrants [for nonviolent offenses] issued before Oct. 1 in the city [St. Louis] will automatically be forgiven, according to Jeff Rainford, the chief of staff to Mayor Francis Slay. He said the announcement was planned for today."

LOL, don't worry. Warrants will only be cleared until Dec. 31. If offenders don’t come to the municipal court by the end of the year and schedule a new court date, they won't be.

Given that only 63 people have taken advantage of the other warrant amnesty that started Sept 15 and ends Oct 15, I think it's safe to say most folks won't put forth the effort.

I just had a thought, maybe they could set up make shift municpal court tables at the protest sites. Protesters can take care of their warrants and then grab their drums, signs and upside down American flags at the next table and continue on to protest

Curious question I have. I know many of us came on here initially due to our outrage over the shooting death of an innocent young unarmed black boy who was gunned down for walking down the middle of the road on his way to his grandmas house. Many of us have changed our stance, either completely to the other side or at least have softened their stance as in waiting to hear the results of the GJ, DOJ investigation, etc...

But I was wondering if any of you know of any political figures or those who have been noted in the press that have also changed or softened their stance from their initial interpretation? I'm trying to come up with someone who laid an initial claim of "outrage" that may have either backtracked or publically changed their stance from the beginning.

Ferguson Business Owner Calls Nighttime Protests ‘Terrorist Acts’

Homeland Security should be called in.

His business is down up to 40 percent, he said, but the protestors are wasting their time.
“There’s no amount of pressure they can put on us that we’re going to try to influence our government,” regarding the Michael Brown case, the caller said.

I'm with him. It's sickening that officials, from locals to the top, are favoring the death chanting, Molotov cocktail throwing protestors' hair trigger tempers over enforcing the laws and standing with the law abiding citizens and business owners. They're pretty far down the capitulating to criminals slope, IMO.

well, this is the City & there's also an amnesty day to "rid" oneself of certain warrants

I am sure some warrants SHOULD be forgiven

I heard him call into KMOX this morning- - thanks for the link

Looks like more of the protestors are getting sick, and some are headed out of town to recoup, then return, so the relative calm (because nothing about the Faraci's confrontation and broken windshield says calm to me) may hold a little while. Or not. Don't see anywhere that arrests were made last night.

Exactly. Feels like a ransom for a city held hostage.

I know! I'd like to know how other state leaders feel about this.

This is literally watching a city crumble at the hands of the citizens. :scared:

I can't help but contribute the fact that most of the mobsters are clueless to how the justice system works -- education is key & I'm not convinced they know what they're protesting against/for. What if there was no Due Process? How many of these people would be sitting in jail/prison?

and chances are even if indicted, ODW will not be charged with 1st degree murder

Honestly, if the Cards are in the play offs, none of the hotels downtown & surrounding areas will be available to out of town antagonizers IMHO

Supporting Officer Darren Wilson & all LEOs who do their job & keep us protected & safe :)

We have tons of hotels. Even with football and baseball playoffs, there will be plenty of hotel rooms. Might be sold out in downtown St. Louis, but hoping that out of town antagonizers won't find a room is unfortunately wishful thinking.

Nice to see that all the people complaining about warrants are rushing in to get them forgiven

Could that number be low because they haven't even told people about it?

Could that number be low because they're not even taking phone calls about it?
