I had heard rumblings of this I think it was this morning. I had hoped it would just go away and there was nothing to it. This just isn't good no matter how one looks at it. You may be right that she was just trying to be an internet big shot and really doesn't know anyone on the GJ, but its still going to understandably cast doubt over this entire GJ no matter what. A no-bill comes back and it's just the system covering up a cover up. A true-bill comes back and it's not because the evidence warranted it but rather to simply avoid the shadow of impropriety. Saying the post doesn't say the juror said it is nitpicking. The intent of the post is clear.

If by King you mean that Shawn King guy, yes, he's much like CJ. I'd be better off if I never heard of either.

Another new generation journalist. Havoc and chaos they wreck...damage they cause. If only we could hope they would someday understand! Zilch, IMO. This new news has a stink about it that really, really is nasty.

If this person really exists, they will know if she or he knows any of the grand jurors. Probably soon. Wait and see. But someone is in trouble, and not necessarily a member of the Grand Jury. JMO

I will wait and see. My point is, even if they find that she didn't know any of them, there is still a damn cloud. This woman has me banging my head against the wall.

Respectfully BBM: I honestly don't believe you can describe all (or even most?) of the current regular protestors as 'MB supporters' any more than you can describe all or most of those who are unhappy about the actions of the protestors as 'DW supporters.' I believe the whole question of what happened with Michael Brown that day has been subsumed into other 'causes' that involve distrust or resentment of authority or anger over flagrant disruption of the community/lawbreaking. The two actual human men involved have been largely been lost in the shuffle, and that is very sad.

IMO, of course.

I'm talking about the self proclaimed MB supporters. That is why I didn't use the word 'protester' anywhere in my above post to describe the people I was referring to. :peace:

again - wishful thinking = they could make it a 2 some = m/brown's buddy (crap, can't think of his name).

imo he's got a lot of responsibility/accountability for what's happening.

What? I was talking about the twitter user's comment about a grand juror.

Both sides setting up arguments on why a no true bill will not be a legitimate result and the other side setting up their arguments on why a true-bill will not be a legitimate result.

Thankfully we'll see the evidence that led the jurors to their decision. All of it. I'm especially excited about the forensics on the gun and the hospital records, x-rays, etc.

what?

if there is no indictment, we will see the evidence presented & hopefully a map of WHY the GJ members decided so

if there is an indictment, what will it be? Surely won't be 1st degree murder warranting the death penalty which is what the mobsters are calling for IMHO

I think this entire situation has us banging our heads. And I don't think our banging our heads is going to solve it, and neither do you. I do think it's out of control, and it does scare me where it might go. Such a waste of time for those of us raised in the 60s/70s and those of us who worked in civil rights and with groups of MLK. Hello, 1950s! Today, however, those kids are armed! This is a different Mississippi Burning! Way, way different.

Saw it all over twitter. First, the young lady may be stating familiarity to lend credence to her position and not really know anyone on the GJ. The post also does not say that the juror said there is not enough. Finally, the GJ is still reviewing evidence and is expected to for weeks. It wasn't a smart thing to tweet, and hopefully a juror has not breached confidentiality. The protestors would not deal well with a whole new GJ starting over.

As for King, he seems quite narcissistic on twitter and not aware of many facts or statutes, but protestors like to retweet his errors. I'd put him in the category of instigator to profit personally. He makes sure to self promote amid the rants.

King also writes for the DailyKos. I'll need verification he and his pals didn't fabricate the entire thing

wow - no one in Ferguson protesting but plenty eating pizza

I agree. Unfortunately the actual "facts" in this one, particular case are being lost in the shuffle. Some MB supporters will be very angry if law enforcement is not held accountable for injustices inflicted upon young black men and supporters for the young police officer will be very angry if this police officer is unjustly sacrificed to appease the angry crowd. I'm not sure how this will play out but it isn't going to be pretty.

I DO understand your dilemma. You have told us that you live near the crisis, and I know from reading your posts that as, I do, you just want a clean and just determination to be made by a GJ which takes it's legal obligation seriously. This is not a football game, where people should be cheerleading for a certain outcome. The outcome for me, will be satisfying if I feel that I can trust jurors to follow the law. That's all. But, no matter what happens, the city of Ferguson, and the STL area will be forever changed. I really DO hope, that armchair commenters on the crisis will buck up some energy to positively help the population of Ferguson recover. JMO

No, it's critical reading skills, which are just as important as critical listening and critical thinking skills, and just as lacking among protestors and instigators in this case.

Like many other instances on his twitter feed, King posts wrong information and it gets blasted out and foments rage, all based on a myth.

Example:

She went on to post that her friend told her they doubted they'd charge Darren Wilson & hadn't been given enough info to indict him yet.
https://twitter.com/ShaunKing/status/517415935507181568

Her tweet does NOT say:
1) the "someone" is a friend
2) that the someone said he/she doubted they'd charge him
3) that the GJ "hadn't been given enough info"

Don't know where he is, but I bet the next time we see him he will be wearing a button-down collar shirt.

All I have to ask is How Hard Is It To Vote?! I typically vote absentee since I travel for work but when I am home close to the polling place on election day, I Vote!

Is this privilege as an American not taught in school any longer? Gawd, it all comes down to strong parenting & education IMHO so blessed to be who I am
