Same here.
But they must also pass a psychological evaluation, exams, successfully complete the police academy and a criminal background check. Iirc they even look closely as juvenile records.

All the more reason to teach our children personal responsibility and the power of good personal choices in the face of adversity.

Sorry to quote mice elf, but is that one of Mike's slides (flip flops)? If you look at the video I posted in #73 and stop it at 0:48, the object is clearly in the street and gives a different aspect, upside down, heel pointing towards curb?

I think you might be right. I've looked at that picture several times and couldn't come up with anything.

Thanks for providing this. I hope Michael Brown's family's ******** page gets a lot of donations in lieu of flowers. Money can't bring MB back to his family, of course. But it can make their lives a little easier at this tough time, lessen their financial burdens. I hope also that MB's family and friends find peace at his funeral. RIP Michael Brown

Bravo! Totally agree

They said they had to embalm because the mortuary did not have a cooler.

And that must have been the ONLY mortuary in the St. Louis area.

I am surprised a mortuary can even operate without a cooler; ugh.

Honestly,
I really couldn't care less about amassing large amounts of money for either side. I find both distasteful at this point...almost like a contest.
I just want the truth and I hope everyone can come to some measure of peace at the eventual outcome.

Well I would rather see folks send money to show their displeasure with one side or the other rather than riot/loot.

Of that was the only choices, I'd agree wholeheartedly.

Wow! That's incredible. 15 dirt diggers and they couldn't come up with anything bad on Officer Wilson.

The WaPo hit piece provided the first-middle-last name of both DW and his ex-wife. Why, other than to help vigilantes locate and harm/harass them and make news?

The WaPo also wrote this: " There was a struggle over Wilson’s gun, which was fired once inside the car, [St Louis Police Chief] Belmar said. The only person to fire the gun was Wilson, he said."

I'm certain the bolded part is a provable lie, in that Belmar didn't say that.

I really found the second autopsy to be a waste of time. Even Baden said they only had 75% of what they needed.

The body had already been embalmed and they said they couldn't even tell the trajectory of the bullets with any certainty. So any gun shot residue on the body had already been washed and cleaned away.

What is needed to know if any of the shots were at close range is the clothing of MB which Baden didn't have. Often the gun shot residue will be on the clothing and it will prevent stippling from penetrating the actual wound. And even Baden said all he could say is the bullets were fired from at least 2-3 feet away. Why? Because he didn't have what he needed to show it was close range (the clothing). Now I suppose to an expert that would be classified as a mid-range shot but to the ordinary laypeople IMO that would be very close up.

He also said there was a gash on MB hand which could be consistent if he was grabbing the gun of OW and the slide on the handgun could have pinched/cut/gashed his hand if his hand was on it at the time.

So there is nothing showing me this wasn't at close range.

In fact since he had the gash on his hand it makes me believe more that there was a tussle in OW car over the gun. And OW's patrol car will also be tested for gunshot residue.

BBM

Baden said this, I just can't recall? :)

Re GSR, not only would MBs clothing indicate GSR from shots at close range, but so should DJs indicate that he was as close to MB/the car when the first shot(s) were fired.

This is strictly my opinion, and speculation, but I'm wondering about whether or not MBs body was washed/cleaned prior to the autopsy. Might it be possible that only embalming was done in order to preserve the body? I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the family's lawyers advised them to get an independent autopsy very early on, even before Dr. Case provided any info that they may or may not have liked :dunno: that just makes sense to me. Also, Baden IIRC never states body was washed, just embalmed :dunno:

But back to GSR. I actually think the GSR, if found on the clothing might not answer all questions. if a shot was fired in the car, then obviously there will be GSR on MBs shirt. the other shots are what is more important. Did Baden mention any signs of a close range shot relative to the head wounds? Stippling for example? I don't recall that he did.

Well, there is no dispute that MB and OW were at close range at the police cruiser, when apparently one shot went off and an injury may have occurred. The question, to me, is the distance apart when the fatal shots were fired. Pretty clear they were not at point blank range, but exact distance is unknown at this point. I guess we will know more when the first autopsy results including the clothing are released.

Doubt very much if clothing will give distance other shots were fired from. Residue on cloths from shot fired in car & other shots most likely fired at a distance greater than two feet.

Regardless of what your opinion is on this case, a young life was cut short, a family is hurting. Its very sad...

Watching these parents on TV, I can see 3 things:
1. They're really angry
2. They love and miss their son
3. They absolutely believe (as only a parent can, sometimes) that everything they think is true, is true; and everything else they believe to be false, is false.

When they think of their son, even when the pictures or video show a different side to him, all they see is the fun, shy boy. Myself, not knowing him, and only seeing the pics I see, and the video I see, I can't wrap my head around that.

I hope they start to heal today. I hope they find peace. No one should lose a child.

I also hope this Officer finds peace. I hope he can lead a fulfilling life after this, without the need to look over his shoulder.

I hope when and if justice is served, everyone involved can live with what it is, and move on from this point in time. Even if it's not what they see "justice" as being.
