I have no idea what they are- but they look like what they used to call machine guns? Big long black ones with shoulder straps. I commute right past the WTC, where it is common, but other big commuter hubs have them too. We have so many different forces, NY , NJ, and Port Authority, as well as a mix of military these days. I actually think it's the PA that carry the big guns most frequently. I think- but I try not to stare at them!

You mean AR-15 style weapons? They are semiautomatic .223's (5.62mm NATO rounds). Yep, 3 1/1000ths of an inch larger than a .22 you shoot in the Boy Scouts. You appear to, IMO, being mixing up "High Powered" with "Scary Looking".

Anyone here have OAN Network? It's new by us. Well they just had an African American man on here that spoke some serious truth about all of this. Here is his website. What a breath of fresh air!!!

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson

Now THIS is a real man! God bless him!

Can he please come to Ferguson?! Not that it would help at this point, but yes, I agree, he is a breath of fresh air.

So does this seem to perhaps indicate that DJ was more involved in the actual altercation at the vehicle than originally thought???
Yes, how would he lose a gold bracelet at OW vehicle? If he was standing on the passenger side?

All posts are MOO

Higher powered then? In a very dense urban setting they are scary, no two ways about it. Maybe it's how young and nervous some of them holding look!

He would know all about riots, wouldn't he?!? After all, wasn't he the one that started the "protestors" chanting the Who do we want? Darren Wilson. How do we want him? Dead.

It's a shame that folks don't understand that if/when you throw glass bottles at LE, throw Molotov cocktails at LE, fire guns at LE AND other protestors, claim that they want A cop dead (doesn't really matter which one, any one will do), that LE is entitled to not only protect themselves (and the public) but also allowed to arrest you (general you).

MOO

I am by no means a fan of Malik Shabazz, but they were chanting "in jail" not "dead". http://youtu.be/FwJrG2AMghw

This will end up with the Officer involved losing his job and Michael Brown's family getting a civil settlement.
I totally agree with that outcome if it happens.
IMO too much police force on Michael Brown.
And please-leave his juvenile record out of this all.
How many amongst us have a child with a juvie record? And how many of our children have been used by thugs to be the fall guy/girl by way of size, beauty, naivety....
Jmo

I can tell you for a fact that there are people I know with violent youth records. If at any given time I was told that they attacked an officer I would truly believe it knowing their history.
I am not sure the law in the states but I do know of people who have had youth records and they are sealed. However if they commit a crime as an adult these records are no longer sealed. Also I believe (I could be wrong) if a youth is charged as an adult then the crime is never sealed.
I have a hard time buying what this reporter (I believe it is a reporter?) is saying that MB was a suspect in, just my gut feeling.

Edit: Also in re: to the marijuana smoking. Smoking some recreational pot would not IMO have caused any sort of violence. However sometimes those with mental illness that is undiagnosed do tend to self medicate. Pot can relieve anxieties (or sometimes makes them worse depending on your physical reaction).

Sorry for spelling and grammatical errors it's been a long day and I am too lazy to edit :)

So what is your opposition to them? Is it because they can do more damage (Ironically, although the catch phrase of the gun grabbers is "They are designed to kill!", the 5.62 NATO round is ACTUALLY designed NOT to kill, but to WOUND, since a wounded enemy combatant is FAR better than a dead one), or because they are scary looking?

OBE didn't need to provide a link because she stated IMO (in my opinion)

Linda did need to provide a link because she was quoting 'Josie's' statement.

Clear as mud, right?

OMG! So which is it?

"Please provide a link" or "I don't have to provide a link"?

This is maddening. I have been asked for links for things I have provided links for. But God forbid I ask for a link. :needdrink::banghead:

He was heavyset and quiet, but not shy. He recorded rap music with his best friend and smoked marijuana with other young men.

"He lived in a community that had rough patches, and he dabbled in drugs and alcohol. He had taken to rapping in recent months, producing lyrics that were by turns contemplative and vulgar."

Maybe you just need to put the "magic letters" IMO or MOO or JMO on your post. Does that make it not require a link?

EXCUSE ME PLEASE for one moment. First of all, we DO NOT KNOW exactly what OW told them at the very beginnning. Nor do we know what his tone of voice was. Nor do we know what his facial expressions were.

You say, they "casually" told him. Well that is what DJ said and DJ ALSO SAID THAT OW SAID "get the fu** off the street." So you choose to believe one part and not the other?

Why do you believe the "casually" part but not the part about exactly how OW told them to get off the street?

And if he said "get the eff off the street you effing punks!" would that have justified attacking an officer? (allegedly)
IMO I am of the same mindset as others that MB was not in his right state of mind. Whether that means he was high, drunk, both or suffering from a mental illness.
And when I say high I don't just mean marijuana.

Ok-then let us surmise that they 'defiantly' told the officer that they were not going to get off the street. How about 'emphatically'?

Is your argument about what the officer said to them? If so-what's your beef?
