Yes, that was exactly it. Thank you both so much.

I think it's a critical factor. If the case ever goes to trial, I don't doubt we'll hear it explained more.

I know cops are taught these things, but I haven't heard or read about it anywhere but here in relation to this case.

Has it been brought up much in the media?

Anytime! :)

I have seen some discussion in the media as well. Showing videos with police being confronted with several situations and how QUICK a person can be, jumping on a police officer in two seconds when they are like 20 or 30 feet away. The videos also demonstrated how unpredictable people can be! A supposedly harmless traffic stop can end up very dangerous for the police officer.

It was also mentioned a few times in the media (CNN and Fox) that it takes approx. 2 to 2 1/2 seconds for a police officer to think and react (pulling gun out of holster) to a situation. It only takes a perp approx. 2 to 3 seconds to run 35 feet (to jump a police officer). I hope I got this right as I'm posting from memory.

now CNN Ferguson cop resigns was in Ferguson not a ferguson cop

I typed and deleted the same thing. I wonder if that is the reason for leaving and returning as has been said/reported.

I was thinking the same thing.

Darin has too many conflicting things about him to not be involved somehow. For example, Darin sounds like he is legitimately in shock and upset on the 911 tape. He desribes things as appearing to be in slow motion. It seems like a surreal experience. All things that point to an innocent Darin. But then he is already coming up with excuses for Darlie at the hospital even before police are suspecting her. So now we have an innocent Darin who doesn't ask about his kids AND has decided within minutes he needs to explain why she would be the perfect target for some guy....she is so pretty, beautiful, did you see her breast? I don't buy the notion that he turned on a dime that morning. "I am so hysterical and devastated that my kids are dead that I must protect my wife in case she did it...Oops." It doesn't add up.

But then if he cut the screen to help her do the staging, why did he go to the house on Bond street right before the trial to look at the screens there?

Thank you. That's good to hear!

ETA : Uh, either I'm losing my mind, or the database is still wonky. Lol where did that quote come from?

I posted this in reply (and with Quote) to ocean's post just above. How funny.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2014/08/27/the-outrage-driving-the-ferguson-debate-ignores-these-three-key-facts/

"Brain processes take time and often move slower than reality. A study published in 2003 showed that it takes a shooter about one-third of a second to recognize a threat, then each trigger pull takes one-tenth of a second. But the mental process of deciding to stop shooting takes longer than the decision to shoot. The result is that another two or three shots can be fired as the senses, brain, nerves, and muscles put on the brakes. In other words, an officer can execute several trigger pulls after a visual input indicates a subject is no longer a threat. Further, multiple shots don’t guarantee that a person will not continue to advance or attack. And it can take over a second for a body to fall to the ground after being fatally shot. This leaves even more time for shots to be fired before an officer’s finger stops pulling the trigger."

I would rank him up there as #1 as well for the same reasons. It was right after the incident, and he likely wasn't even aware he was being recorded. IMHO, he had no reason at that moment to embellish anything. JMO!

Let me clarify my choice of Brady as #1 & Black Canseco #2. I'm talking about the very first interview I saw Brady. He was talking to AC. He said he saw MB turn around clutching his stomach & take 2 steps towards OW. In later interviews he dropped the two steps. In the last one I saw Brady said MB turned around kinda balled up & was already falling. At least he didn't say he saw MB's hands raised surrendering in any interview I saw.

Great addition! Thanks, Deb.

A Missouri police officer who was caught on video raising his weapon and telling Ferguson protesters that he would kill them has resigned from the force.
Lt. Ray Albers, 46, stepped down from the St. Ann police department on Thursday, the St. Louis Dispatch reported. The resignation comes just a little over a week after The Huffington Post and other outlets confirmed Albers' identity in footage of the officer threatening civilians protesting the death of Michael Brown.

OMG that is a 2005 quote from the Darlie Routier thread! How the heck did that happen?

I'm believing the unknown guy who took the video talking to a neighbor with no media or lawyer involved - he has nothing to lose or gain by his explanation. The rest of the witnesses either changed stories, added extras, or seemed to be parroting other accounts. Especially when any witness refers to one officer as they throughout their statement, it makes me scratch my head. DJ, well, I see him as a big ball of fiction.

IKR?

I'd delete it, but it's just such an odd little orphan, I feel like it deserves to live. ;) Seriously, it might help admin troubleshoot.

I think the database is throwing errors in a few places. Time stamps and thanks are also unpredictable.

From the above linked video , the closest I can pause with a police car is at 1:51. I don't see blood on the car , but something underneath on the passenger side (on the ground ). I took a few screen shots from the video http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/26/us/michael-brown-ferguson-shooting/

I don't think that is OW's SUV. Here is the pic of it with police tape around it. Notice the tires, the mirror and the window. . .not the same.

Thanks, hambirg ~ and happy to see the window in this one appears to be down/open, doesn't it?

Right. I mean, Black Canseco might be a nice guy, but after telling everyone how (insert assassination narrative), then says outright, "That's what I heard." lol

He might be a good witness for showing how fast the story was spreading. ;)

ETA:... which makes unknown background guy's telling of what he actually saw first hand even more compelling.

That stuck out to me, "well that's what I heard"

Those "facts" spread so quickly, and I again have to go back to how suspicious it was that all of the key witnesses were gathered together. Add in "the man in the green shirt" and you've gotta wonder...we'll I've gotta any away.

JMO I haven't been here for lots of years, but have you old timers ever had this much difficulty determining which is the crime scene car? In my short time, I have never seen the likes of it! Why is it not identified by MSM or LE or SOMEBODY? Usually we are able (by enterprising members) to know timelines, and have photos and maps.. This is labrynthine! I keep thinking I know which is the SUV in question and the get confused all over again! I sort of think that the SUV with lots of crime tape, back facing the drainage gutter, is it. IS IT??? JMO and Thanks

I know what you mean. Part of the problem is the media is focusing more on the protests, and the emotion of this rather than the facts...the hysteria draws more viewers I guess, plus we really don't have a lot facts right now either.
