Okay folks, let's get back on topic.

I would add that there are unquestionably racists exploiting this situation for the opportunity to espouse their views. But I strongly disagree that they are on the "side" of the officer. The New Black Panthers, for example (who are trying to change their name AGAIN to hide their true purpose), are unquestionably a racist group. And their leader was filmed leading death chants for the officer.

Who are the REAL racists instigators here? IMO, it's pathetically, unabashedly, glaringly obvious.

IMO, this entire situation was never a racist situation, and had no overtones of any kind of racism. IMO, race was not even a side issue, except for the fact that it occurred in a predominantly black, crime ridden, and poor neighborhood. It could just as easily have happened in a poor, white crime ridden neighborhood, or a poor, Asian or Hispanic, crime ridden neighborhood. The issue is the attitude, and conduct, and motivations of the suspects. Criminals come in all different shapes, colors, and sizes. And strangely enough, crime ridden areas tend to have a lot of criminals there. It's not rocket science! And it's not racism. Not in this case, IMO.
IMO this post should be repeated.

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. No more selective amnesia about the struggle at/in the car over the gun.

My guess is that DJ must tell the truth. Assuming the entire trail of physical evidence ie autopsy, dna, etc. contradicts DJ's story, investigators can just poke holes in his story with physical evidence (depending on what evidence actually shows), so DJ may cave if evidence shows he lied (ie MB shot from the front-autopsy; DNA -where was it? did it support DJ's story that OW grabbed MB's neck or that MB grabbed for gun and hit OW). If DJ wants to avoid federal/state perjury, federal false statements or other charges he needs to tell the truth, ultimately I'd wager it's about self-preservation for him and his family. It may be one of the reasons he is under federal protection b/c if he doesn't "stick" to his original story, many groups, including gangs (I assume this area has gang activity-"snitches need stitches") etc will freak out and it could become dangerous for him.

We have heard that there were 1 or 2 cars that were right there , being stopped by the action, when the incident began. I have never seen any of those witnesses joining in with Crump and the protestors, or telling their story of the officer rolling up and grabbing MB for no reason.

So I believe that there are a few witnesses that told investigators the truth about what MB did at the start. I think these witnesses said that MB bumrushed OW,shoved him back in the car, punched him and they grappled over the gun. Then when the shot fired, MB ran away, before turning around one last time.

And I think that DJ has been confronted with this witness testimony, and finally had to admit the truth. And so now he needs to be protected. I think he is even being 'protected' from being confronted by Crump and company. jmo :cow:

Is one of those cars the one that DJ stated that he hid behind?

Is one of those cars the one that DJ stated that he hid behind?

In 2 articles (previously sourced) he mentions "2 screaming people in a car," and "begged for them to take him with them" paraphrasing.

"They 'peeled off?' I think was the quote from the above article. But how were they able to leave?

Yes, iirc, Piaget said they removed security cameras from the complex too

Interesting that lawyers are not mentioning those as their silver bullet. What they don't say speaks louder as what they do.

They are so worried about their civil rights, yet they seem to forget that OW also has rights.I also have a bi-racial family. My step-son is married to an African-American lady and they have 4-children. We are all in this together.

BBM.

Many thanks for this post, particularly the portion I've bolded.
I've been reading this thread for a couple of hours hoping to run into what you have stated; and then I did. :daisy:

Re: streetlights
Ours have solar attachments on them, could it be that?

Where there shots fired in general vicinity after OW shooting? I believe there were and that delayed things while scene was secured.

So they are blocking traffic because the police did an investigation into Mike's death and took too long?
Ok.

correct branwynbreeze. Shots fired in teh vicinity shortly after the shooting of MB hampered the ability of the detectives to begin their work. As did a MB family member (assuming grandmother whose home he was headed to an where he was staying) who kept going beyond the crime scene taped area. Lastly the crowd control was an issue.

All per police chief's statements to press when addressing length of time MB body was on the scene prior to removal.

Happening now in #Ferguson, citizens on horseback try to help police track down a teen who stole another's phone.

That's interesting.

It is. Makes one wonder, with all the police energy being used to try to maintain calm at all these peaceful (using the term loosely because IMO many of them have been anything BUT peaceful) demonstrations, who is actually out there dealing with the everyday crimes (you know those ones that don't apparently warrant such demonstrations) that must surely be continuing as normal despite everyone's continued focus on MB shooting..

I believe MB's Father and protesters are being patronized by allowing all these "demands" to be met mainly for the purpose of keeping some sort of peace. For his father to seem to think that he can control whether "y'all" do or do not block highways is a bit rich to me. To me, at some point there has to be a stop to the "demands" and the retaliation if they are not met. If Federal highways are blocked those will become Federal offenses, IMO. It offends me that anyone would use the death of their children to garner attention, money and claim a false agenda. IMO, there is absolutely no race card in this tragedy...just using it for the wrong motives.
