I know that DJ has said that he hiding behind one of two cars and even implored the driver to whisk him away from the shooting incident. I've also read that DJ actually left the scene, possibly returning home. I can't find anything about his leaving by googling. Is that true, and if so, at what point did he leave? No link necessary AFAIC, just curious if anyone knows about this.
I would add that there are unquestionably racists exploiting this situation for the opportunity to espouse their views. But I strongly disagree that they are on the "side" of the officer. The New Black Panthers, for example (who are trying to change their name AGAIN to hide their true purpose), are unquestionably a racist group. And their leader was filmed leading death chants for the officer.
Who are the REAL racists instigators here? IMO, it's pathetically, unabashedly, glaringly obvious.
IMO, this entire situation was never a racist situation, and had no overtones of any kind of racism. IMO, race was not even a side issue, except for the fact that it occurred in a predominantly black, crime ridden, and poor neighborhood. It could just as easily have happened in a poor, white crime ridden neighborhood, or a poor, Asian or Hispanic, crime ridden neighborhood. The issue is the attitude, and conduct, and motivations of the suspects. Criminals come in all different shapes, colors, and sizes. And strangely enough, crime ridden areas tend to have a lot of criminals there. It's not rocket science! And it's not racism. Not in this case, IMO.
The discussion on why there are not two officers in each car made me think of a comment I wanted to make earlier. With only one officer per car, there might be implied pressure on the individual officer to "handle" things himself without calling for backup. Also, could be a "macho" problem if the officer was always calling for help.

Yeah some tanks might change their mind about shutting down the highways.
Guess the protestors that actually HAVE a car didn't feel like losing it today.
We know that...clearly the protesters either do not know the facts or they do not care. That reporter was just reporting why they were doing what they were doing. jmoHe was not left uncovered for 4 1/2 hrs.
If DJ is in protective custody then he probably did change his story.
Does that mean he is a credible witness? Just curious.
We have heard that there were 1 or 2 cars that were right there , being stopped by the action, when the incident began. I have never seen any of those witnesses joining in with Crump and the protestors, or telling their story of the officer rolling up and grabbing MB for no reason.
So I believe that there are a few witnesses that told investigators the truth about what MB did at the start. I think these witnesses said that MB bumrushed OW,shoved him back in the car, punched him and they grappled over the gun. Then when the shot fired, MB ran away, before turning around one last time.
And I think that DJ has been confronted with this witness testimony, and finally had to admit the truth. And so now he needs to be protected. I think he is even being 'protected' from being confronted by Crump and company. jmo :cow:
Does that mean he is a credible witness? Just curious.
if he changed his story to one that supports OW, then I thunk it would be credible. I don't think he would do that unless it was the truth. jmo
I will say...I'm truly curious what they have to say. Could support the cop. Could support MB. Who knows, but I suspect they will ultimately hold the key, along with the forensics performed crime scene analysis.
lol true. But if he finally tells the basic truth about MB's actions, then I think a jury or Grand Jury will believe him.DJ will NEVER be a credible witness. IMO

This is so ridiculous. And they are going to piss off the people they claim to want support from. This is so stupid.

Nothing wrong with protest if you are clear about what you are protesting against. It seems as if these protests are geared to protest against the fact that Officer Wilson has not been charged, tried and convicted without benefit of due process that is supposed to be afforded to every American under the judicial system and that is IMO what is wrong with these protests.
I could see if this shooting were not being investigated. I could see if the feds had not come in to do their own independent investigation. I could see if McCullough had refused to take the case to the grand jury. BUT NONE of those things has occurred.
So what exactly is being protested at this point save we haven't gotten what we want which is the immediate incarceration or death of Officer Wilson?
