But that is not what happened. Yes there were people who decided to peacefully protest and some who did not. They were not part of the core. There were people who came from other states to make trouble.. Again not the core.
That is like saying everyone here is a trouble maker based on a posts from a few bad eggs.
Sweeping generalizations are not factual. In any case IMO.

I watched hours of the live streaming. I watched HUNDREDS of protestors marching and chanting in unison, KILL THE PIGS.
I watched hundreds chanting WHO DO WE WANT? Wilson...HOW do WE WANT HIM...DEAD....

I watched hundreds of protestors marching in unison, right up to the officers, face to face, many yelling obscenities, ALL of them wanting to cause a reaction.

What can you call an organised group, marching and chanting in UNISON, besides 'THEY? '

“Missouri Governor Jeremiah ‘Jay’ Nixon has humiliated black leadership, locally and nationally, by rejecting all their pleas for a special prosecutor to be appointed,” organizers said in a statement.

Because they were humiliated? This is no longer about Michael, but about their egos? How sad.

BBM-Nope...you are right...this hasn't been about Michael since day one. IMO. To me, the only ones that are truly making this about Michael are the ones who are allowing the justice system do its job in the case.

You will be told not all cops should be lumped together either. Pretty much agree on all counts.

And I agree with that too. I think there are always more good than bad. I also believe that there are bad apples in every bunch. Ones that don't walk the line.

They are not all rioting. They are not all wanting OW dead. They are not all horrible. I don't really like the term they. I don't like grouping people together as one unit. There are good people and bad people there. There are people who want justice and people who want revenge, however there is no they. To lump everyone together is obtuse IMO

How's this instead?

The people who are lying about the circumstances of the MB shooting need to stop lying.

The rioters need to stop rioting.

The lawyers need to stop obfuscating and lying.

The activists and instigators need to stop lying, calling for OW's death, and tossing out inflammatory rhetoric.

The people calling for OW's immediate arrest need to stop doing that.

The people calling for OW's death need to stop doing that.

The people threatening to burn down the city if OW isn't indicted need to stop doing that.

My kids went without until they could buy their own car, pay insurance, gas, and upkeep. In my poor, white community we called it learning responsibility.

Mom? Dad? I didn't know you were a member here.

Lol. "They" is just a word used to refer to more than one person simultaneously. You're good, katy. You and others sat up late for nights in a row and accurately documented what happened real time. Thanks.

I think using they is fine.

You asked for the link and I provided it that proves Mr. Brown would NOT have received a suspended sentence as you claimed nor would it be wiped from his record. A strong-arm robbery DOES involve a use of a weapon. The security video DID capture Mr. Brown physically assaulting and intimidating the store clerk.

I think we all should stick to the facts of this case and not invent our own version of facts.

JMO

A strong arm robbery is the use of force while committing the robbery.

No accident the interstate blocking is scheduled for tomorrow, when the grand jurors will be trying to get home. I hope they're royally po'd.

However there were thousands of people out there so that would be some.

I think that we can not get to the truth and heart of the matter until we see things as they really are.
This case is frustrating to me because I see both sides only telling what they want people to think.

I don't think that MB was a saint, I think that day he should his nature but I also think that to his family and friends he may have been a gentle giant. How many times do we see a killer stand trial and his family stand behind them not being able to reconcile the charges with the person they know?
I think that reality is more important than perception in a case like this.

Still?! Even after the jig is up, ie the livery driver information shows they both know and are the reason he lay there that long? Manufactured crisis??
I didn't realize facts mattered to some.

So who does "they" include? All protesters? All Ferguson residents? All people that side with the Brown family? If we're ok lumping everyone together based on the actions of the few, is it ok to do the same with cops because of the actions of the extremely small percentage that act out of line?

Just found a twitter user by the name of Peace Queen who said:

Time awaiting ... If we don't get Darren Wilson ... the city will burn! #Ferguson

:)

I took a look at Twitter. I LOL'ed at this gem:
Darren Wilson still free....they haven't found ONE trace of that plane #MH370 in 6 months....we are limbo waiting for answers

I don't disagree with this either.

The family has not been honest with us, imo. They knew their son had robbed that store and assaulted the little old man,10 minutes before the shooting. They knew he had a few brushes with the law.

They knew several things that have leaked out slowly. They went along with Crumps attempt to create a false narrative, imo. Just today they held a press conference to ask why the officer has not been arrested yet. Even though they know the Grand Jury is ongoing.

Maybe this "secret" GJ will meet on a secret day this week.

I was speaking specifically of the night time protestors. The ones who purposely stayed out after the curfew.

I don't know when they knew he robbed the store but I agree that is why I said both sides. I don't think either side is completely clean here in how this has been handled.
If Crump is talking, I don't believe he is telling the truth, so I just discount him and his associate off the bat. So he is a nonissue for me in looking for the truth.

I'm not sure where Michael lived or for how long. I'm not sure if it's part of a crumbling narrative, poor reporting, or both since it seems both are present in this case, but there have been several versions.
It's strange. I wonder if there were any conditions about living arrangements due to criminal charges against him or others, or social services involvement, or subsidized housing restrictions or benefits that are making it so hard for a simple truth to be told. It almost sounds like he just couch surfed between family and friends. He was eighteen, a young man, so he could live wherever he chose, but the inability to pin that down seems odd.

1) He was visiting grandma, but didn't live there

"They told me how many times my son was shot. Eight," said McSpadden. She said he was visiting his grandmother, who lives in the complex, and was returning from the store.

“He was a good kid. He didn’t live around here,” said Desuirea Harris, grandmother of the victim. “He came to visit me and they did that to him for no reason.”

2) He lived with grandma

They never married, and Brown, who has two sisters and a brother, bounced between the homes his parents shared with their respective spouses. When his mother moved out of the school district, according to friends, Brown began living with his grandmother in the Canfield Green apartment complex.

Livingston walked Daily RFT down Canfield to the low-slung apartment buildings where Brown was living with his grandmother. In the dimly lit front room, the family spoke fondly of the teenager. Some of them sat on the couch that he used as his bed. They say he slept like a rock on it, despite his big frame.

Good boy in a bad 'hood: Mike Mike, as the family called him (pictured with brother Andre, now 7 and sister Deja, now 14) had won a place at college and was told by his mother to 'do what he wanted this summer' as a reward. He chose to stay at his grandmother's house where the aspiring rapper had a makeshift studio

3) Michael lived with his two grandmothers, mother, and father in their respective homes?

Growing up, he lived under one roof with his parents, paternal grandparents and, later, a younger sister.

After his parents split up, he stayed with his mother though he remained close to all of his family, who lived near one another in north St. Louis County.

When his mother moved out of the Normandy District, he moved in with his paternal grandmother so he could remain at that school. But he continued to alternate between his parents and maternal grandmother.

4) Michael lived with friends

Brown stayed at Canfield with friends and, earlier this year, with his grandmother at the adjacent Northwinds apartments.

I honestly feel for him. It's hard to grow up with instability, if that's the case. Four different high schools tells a story, though.

Good grief! I'm dizzy just reading that :scared: Why in the world would he need to move around that much, from family to family
