I don't see anything on Missouri casenet yet. Isn't there Vine or something along those lines where we might see if his arraignment or court appearance will be today? If it is, his protestors may show up. Saw #freebroshahid.

Did you try his old name? I don't know if he legally changed his name or not and just goes by Shahid.

That, to me, all comes down to were his hands up saying "Ok, ok, ok" or was he advancing on OW. Most of the witness statements seem to say the former.

Actually, there are a couple more: McKnight, who said he stumbled toward the officer but didn't rush him, and Walker, who said he saw MB "walking at a steady pace" toward the officer.

So on the "surrendering" side we have DJ, PC, & TM.

On the "advancing toward OW" side we have the overheard-guy on the Black Canseco recording, the 2 construction workers, Brady, and the anonymous Twitter person, plus Josie (if you care to give her story any credibility), plus the evidence cones further out beyond MB's body.

So, I would say that most of the witnesses seem to say the latter (i.e., advancing). Maybe advancing with hands up, maybe advancing with hands out, maybe advancing with hands wrapped around stomach, but advancing. On the surrendering side, I'm sorry, but those witnesses have not proven themselves to be particularly trustworthy or credible. DJ is a known liar, and there's no way that PC could have seen everything she claims to have seen, what with all the going from window to window and gathering her things for work and so forth. And TM, from her vantage point, it's not likely that she could have seen everything as clearly as she claims to.

You are, of course, completely free to believe that it's up in the air which way it actually happened, just as I'm free to believe that at least the preponderance of the evidence strongly suggests a very justified shoot. Way more than reasonable doubt, which is what it would take to actually convict OW.

Piaget said he might have taken one tiny centimeter stop toward the officer.

Piaget said he might have taken one tiny centimeter stop toward the officer.

Ah, yes, the famous one-centimeter step. She couldn't quite bring herself to tell an absolute lie about that, so she minimized it to an absurd extreme.

That statement is crazy to me. Why make it? It sounds absurd, b/c how exactly does one know a person has just taken, "a tiny centimeter step toward the officer."

Hmmmm

“Police sources tell me more than a dozen witnesses have corroborated cop’s version of events in shooting,” St. Louis Post-Dispatch crime reporter Christine Byers tweeted
http://nypost.com/2014/08/19/witnesses-say-ferguson-teen-attacked-cop-before-shooting/

He has told investigators that he struggled with Brown in his police cruiser and opened fire out of fear for his life after Brown charged at him, according to people familiar with Wilson’s interview with investigators.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...0e203c-2757-11e4-958c-268a320a60ce_story.html

Wilson was coming off another case in the neighborhood on Aug. 9 when he ordered Michael Brown and his friend Dorian Johnson to stop walking in the middle of the road because they were obstructing traffic...“They ignored him and the officer started to get out of the car to tell them to move," the source said. "They shoved him right back in, that’s when Michael Brown leans in and starts beating Officer Wilson in the head and the face."
...there was a struggle between Brown and Wilson for the policeman’s firearm, resulting in the gun going off – although it still remains unclear at this stage who pulled the trigger. Brown started to walk away according to the account, prompting Wilson to draw his gun and order him to freeze. Brown, the source said, raised his hands in the air, and turned around saying, "What, you're going to shoot me?"...Brown charged Wilson, prompting the officer to fire at least six shots at him

- a source close to the department's top brass

A caller to the St. Louis radio program The Dana Show, on Radio America, gave what she said was the officer's version of events. Her account accurately matches what Wilson has told investigators, a source with detailed knowledge of the investigation told CNN.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/19/us/ferguson-michael-brown-dueling-narratives/

“He pulled up ahead of them. And then he got a call-in that there was a strong-arm robbery. And, they gave a description. And, he’s looking at them and they got something in their hands and it looks like it could be what, you know those cigars or whatever. So he goes in reverse back to them. Tries to get out of his car. They slam his door shut violently. I think he said Michael did. And, then he opened the car again. He tried to get out. He stands up.

And then Michael just bum-rushes him and shoves him back into his car. Punches him in the face and them Darren grabs for his gun. Michael grabbed for the gun. At one point he got the gun entirely turned against his hip. And he shoves it away. And the gun goes off.

Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, “Freeze!” Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him… And then all the sudden he just started bumrushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. And, so he just started shooting. And, he just kept coming. And, so he really thinks he was on something.”

Hmmmm

To cover her hiney when it was revealed Brown went forward, but still toe the party line for the narrative?

I hope not!

@HotepTNT
@TeDonPrecieux hey. I just left and they will be holding him for 24hrs and should be released by 5pm tomorrow #FreeBroShahid #FERGUSON

I also hope this arrest gives the organizers great pause. I'm betting Vickers does not want new charges.

It looks like a far larger number of witnesses support Wilson's account than the narrative.

Group number four.

I'm in whatever group originally approached this believing the initial reports about racist cop shooting unarmed teen while he was surrendering, then changed sides as evidence started coming out. I'm now pretty entrenched in believing it was a completely justified and necessary shoot, but I am open to changing my mind if new evidence comes out that warrants it.

Which group is that? I need to make sure I'm standing with the right group.

Was this a twitter by Atiya Shahid 11 hours ago? Do you know by chance who she is? His wife possibly? Maybe she is just hopeful and assuming that he would be released at 5 p.m. today.

On the other hand, I'm hoping he will be held much longer and thoroughly interrogated by the FBI. JMO.

No, it's from HotepTNT, but it was from last night, before the charge was announced, so I'm hoping its wrong too.

I love an honest man/woman/answer. Too bad this case hasn't brought enough of them, IMO

Well, just to be clear, I haven't fallen on either side as far as the OW case goes. What I do take issue with, on either side, are those who think there are any bright lines in this case or those who come across as having found their theory and try to make the facts fit that theory.

Outside of the OW case, I do admit to falling on the side of there are broader issues that must be addressed, particularly in many cities in north county, but elsewhere as well. However, I will freely admit that much of my beliefs on those issues come not just from facts we have learned from this case but from personal experiences. And that doesn't mean even those are one sided. Both sides have flaws that need to be worked on.

No idea how to post this image/flyer?? here, but it looks like now they're planning to boycott Ferguson businesses until Mayor Knowles and Chief Jackson resign. Sure injuring your local economy is bound to help, although if these are the same people who think it's ok to strong arm and threaten, the businesses may be A-ok with them staying away.

I was a liberal once, would have laid my life on the line for civil rights - once.
