I truly hope that the Grand Jurors were watching that city council meeting. I think it will give them a greater understanding of the attitude of some of the local citizens towards the officers. It is easier to understand how OW would be afraid for his life, given the amount of hatred aimed towards 'the establishment' seen that night. jmo

No concern that the black grand jurors might sympathize and have a better understanding of where the frustration and anger comes from or what life is like being a minority and might pass those feelings/understanding on to the other grand jurors? I'd rather they not see/read anything and look at the evidence with a clean slate.

Punctuation is your friend :hilarious:
Thanks, my grand-dog just got all worked up from my laughing.

if droplets exist at the crime scene they could tell much about whether they were falling from a stationary or moving gunshot victim and further his direction of travel. JMO

depending on whether blood pooled or dropped certain ways any pauses in the movement could likely be determined. Whether a run or stumble or as falling might be harder and subject to an alternate expert's opinion. JMO

Thanks so much as well.

I think many of them are educated in that sense. Heck, I know for certain one of the people at the council meeting said she was a nurse. What they need to be educated about is the political process and system as well as the justice system.
They teach that in every school system, don't they?

JMO but I doubt it is a slide bite.

If someone grabs the muzzle of your firearm, firing is recommended (that is why ladies often carry short barreled firearms, they want to grab it and take control? Blow their fingers off, that will entice the assailant to release the firearm).

Yeah, I've said before I think Michael's fingers were wrapped around the barrel as he wrestled for it, gun fired, hitting his hand, and perhaps that graze on his arm and chest. Regardless, I think Parks makes it clear it occurred in the car.

exactly. And how do you 'poison the well' if the released info is THE TRUTH?

MB poisoned his own well and the activists have been adding to it daily IMO

Can you imagine how bad this could get if people are lawfully walking around carrying their guns up there? Gonna make it more likely that a cop gets shot and gonna make it more likely that cops are quicker to the trigger as well (understandably so).

How will anything change?

Missouri residents with concealed-carry permits will be able to openly carry their firearms anywhere in the state: http://bit.ly/1tBjB6y

I think the black grand jurors understand what it is like to be a minority in Ferguson. And the fact that they are sitting on the grand jury tells me that they understand that your life is what you make of it.

I didn't hear any real, down to earth suggestions or complaints coming from the speakers. They wanted the entire police force to be fired, the mayor and DA to be fired, and replaced with ? Black people I guess.

They accused the white cops of being an underground KKK organization and threatened the council members and their families with civil suits and with some vague physical threats of harm as well. It was totally uncalled for. I don't see it making the GJ very sympathetic towards their cause. jmo

The accusations are not baseless- look above, there are a half dozen reports of "anonymous police sources" giving OW's side of he story to reporters- those are leaks. As is Josie's story. All anonymous, and treated by many as gospel instead of gossip. IMHO.
IMHO, we have no way of knowing the true details yet.

I'm trying to picture it as police brutality or racially motivated. OW barks at them to get out of street, drives off, backs up. OW grabs at MB and tussle ensues, OW grabs gun to threaten and/or use-it goes off. MB runs and is followed by OW. If I minimize OW's injury to face, OW has to be the worst shot on force, perhaps country to miss a large target as MB. MB turns and OW backs up to get better shot? It doesn't make sense to me.

Some aspect or to some degree, yes. How council meetings work? I don't remember any of that being taught. Only the bigger picture stuff. President. Legislature. Governor. Those type of things.

I thought they were all "Mike Brown" That's what I kept hearing when they were asked for their names.

If people yesterday were openly carrying guns???? Yeah, I think that would change the dynamics for everyone involved. I think it puts the cops in more danger. I think it makes them understandably quicker to pull the trigger themselves if faced with a crowd of people who are lawfully carrying their guns openly.

DOJ notice in the Burger Bar here in #Ferguson MO. Anyone w/ info on discriminatory or abusive practices should call.
View attachment 58629

Call me cynical, but I think that process in the notice is ripe for exploitation by the "instigators".

Hopefully, residents will use the phone number and website in the manner in which it is intended by DOJ, and the instigators (like Shahid) will not "rally the rioting faithful" to corrupt, or disrupt that process. I can envision provocative messages left anonymously, laced with lots of profanity, rants and threats, as they do on twitter, etc. And then complaints that DOJ didn't take the calls seriously. Much like the "free for all" fiasco at the city council meeting.

Call me cynical again, but the first thing that popped into my mind when I read that is the hacking/ takedown of the city websites, and the calls to overwhelm the city phone lines, in the early days after the MB shooting.

People with CCW permits only can open carry.

Exactly. I can envision hundreds of calls to the DOJ hotline, all of them from "Mike Brown. That is spelled: M-I-K-E B-R-O-W-N." Then using the city police numbers, or the Prosecutor's office numbers, or 911 as their 2 "contact numbers".

(Boy, I really AM cynical.)
