The AP report of the landscaper raising his hands is everywhere now, as most newspapers subscribe to AP for their out of area stories:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-Brown-was-surrendering-when-he-was-shot.html [* source AP]

The Telegraph article/video was posted this morning and shows something I didn't know before - that someone with arms out/up ran toward the landscaper, who then mirrored the action as if agreeing that's what he saw too. But iirc didn't one or both of the landscapers also claim that MB was approaching OW at the time his arms were raised? I ask, because I found no mention of that in the many articles about the "new witness" this morning. Rather a vitally important thing to leave out imo, since several days have passed since CNN ran the video and more about what the landscaper/s saw has been reported elsewhere.
BBM

Yes. I've been reading these partial reports flying too, and had to come vent. Lol
:gaah:

If only I could be surprised that they'd leave such critical information out of their stories. They know darn well that what those men reported about MB coming back toward ODW, for 25+ feet, while ODW was backing up as he shot gives an entirely different view than "surrendering with his hands up".

I believe most of the Crumps around the case are vultures looking to cash in with lawsuits. The media has their own agenda, and they're reckless.

I just wish ODW could come out of this cleared and sue the media and agitators for their smear campaign against him.

I hope people take advantage of this opportunity but will not be shocked if turn out is underwhelming. :(

The "free groceries" will help attract a crowd.

I think the cameras, for the most part, have already gone away, and that's why Crump made his incendiary, unfactual remarks imo. Today in Ferguson: job fair at local community college, warrant amnesty event there too iirc, protest in Clayton at the justice center where grand juries normally meet. Crump and his fellow travelers are working hard to bring people out for other reasons now that the MB-the-murdered-innocent-kid fires have been quenched and may be totally extinguished once the MB full tox screen and OW's hospital records are released imo.

I'm wishing the PD would release something like that, somehow, just to squirt some water on the flames.

I know it isn't kosher and shouldn't be necessary, but giving the agitators too much time to control the narrative bothers me.

I'm just seeing far too many people express second thoughts after reading these articles that leave out crucial details. :(

Trying to get the facts out all by ourselves, up against the msnbc, cnn, Huf post and on and on.... Is just exhausting!

Is there a way the PD could help, ethically? Where should they draw the line? I don't know.

Have no fear Muffet, as my grandmother use to say about situations like this: "It will all come out in the wash". lol

From article:
When the last of the six rounds hit Brown’s body, he pitched forward and landed facedown on the double yellow line in the middle of Canfield Drive, surrounded by long sidewalks, green grass and 14 multiunit apartment buildings.

In order to pitch forward MB must have been moving towards OW with some momentum. The position of body suggests that, too.
.

Exactly.

And I just noticed when reading your quote from the article, MB "landed facedown on the double yellow line in the middle of Canfield Drive." The same double yellow line he so arrogantly refused to move from when directed by OW. Kinda ironic.

Just went back and read the StL Post Dispatch piece on the landscaper witnesses:

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/workers-who-were-witnesses-provide-new-perspective-on-michael-brown/article_14a3e5f8-6c6a-5deb-92fe-87fcee622c29.html

"Wilson, gun drawn, also stopped about 10 feet in front of Brown, the worker said. Then Brown moved, the worker said. “He’s kind of walking back toward the cop.” He said Brown’s hands were still up. Wilson began backing up as he fired, the worker said. After the third shot, Brown’s hands started going down, and he moved about 25 feet toward Wilson, who kept backing away and firing. The worker said he could not tell from where he watched — about 50 feet away — if Brown’s motion toward Wilson after the shots was “a stumble to the ground” or “OK, I’m going to get you, you’re already shooting me.”

One of the few outlets that didn't depend on AP got it right re MB coming back toward OW. The StLPD probably considers Crump Inc.'s usual diatribes less important than their real possibility of winning a Pulitzer.

IMHO there's no way that brewhouse could sponsor a Support ODW rally without being burned to the ground or their patrons being assaulted when walking out to their cars -- that's why we/StL Supporters of ODW & LE rally at a cop bar in south City every Sat/Sun still selling TShirts & collecting donations

Okay then make a strong statement to the press and become well known for that, while looking for another location. And hopefully they have insurance.

Ferguson is done for when it comes to sit down full service restaurants; that involves tipping if you want to keep a staff of good waiters. Those places don't exist in a ghetto. They should take advantage of the media attention and advertise their move with FREE media reports.

That's incredible, especially: "On Tuesday, Adolphus Pruitt, St. Louis head of the NAACP, spoke at a news conference in Ferguson where community activists and religious leaders demanded Wilson’s immediate arrest. “We are not going to be satisfied with a nonindictment,” Pruitt said." I hate to think the NAACP is now having to attract or keep members by trying to "out radical" racist black muslims like Anthony Shahid. One clear winner is Mr. Teal, the Ferguson glass company owner.

7 truths about the Ferguson incident (and others like it)

You joined this profession for a reason, knowing that sometimes it can get rough — you are tough enough to rise above it all and go out and do your sworn duty

As the media continues to report on the ongoing events in Ferguson, police officers continue to feel frustration and anger at how our profession is being portrayed. Here are seven truths about the situation that may serve to put things in perspective and allow you to focus on what is important.

1. There Will be More

2. The Truth Will Come Out in Time

3. The Public Will Listen to Those Who Speak to Them

4. The Media, Politicians, and Community Activists Will Always Play to the Crowd

5. The Public Does Not Understand Use of Force, Let Alone Deadly Force

6. Good Police Officers Will Continue to Fight the Good Fight, Despite Everything Else

7. You Cannot Control What Happens, Only How You Choose to React

I was hopeful that people would understand and riots lose gumption when we read that the DA would open up everything and publicize what the grand jury saw, if they came back with a no-bill.

But recently, I saw something to the effect that he was going to have to request permission to open all that up. Now I'm not so sure.

The only thing worse than a true bill from grand jurors too terrified to vote "no" would be a "no true bill" without a thorough, detailed explanation of the irrefutable evidence which led to it.
