He's dead IMO because he had no clue how to conduct himself as a decent citizen. He did everything wrong. Starting with the strong arm robbery.

Again, That does not give one a death penalty. If he was fighting with officer when he was shot and killed, Id agree, But if he was walking away, running away or in a position with his hands up when he was shot, that is a bad cop shooting.

Maybe Wilson's injury was from the door smacking him in the head?JMO

Do you honestly think that people in "that community" don't already teach their kids that if they don't treat LE obsequiously enough that they could be shot?
I've seen plenty of young men be "disrespectful" to cops. Many LE are somehow able to handle this without anyone ending up dead. Maybe "that community" of LE could teach it's officers in training that not every situation needs to be dealt with with deadly force.

No, I do not.
I would like to comment further about this case and not your post specifically, but I am a lurker and rarely; if ever speak up. I have been following this case since the beginning, there are plenty of issues that I would like to comment on, but for now I've decided to continue to lurk until I feel so frustrated that I must speak up.

Regards to you Gardenlady, I do realize that your post is your opinion and that you most likely feel as passionate about this case as I do.

Dorian, a witness did NOT say there was a struggle for the gun. He said the gun was fired by Wilson and hit Brown. That is what I read in the supporting link. JMO

Dorian can not be believed.

CNN right now " Police still refusing to release reports from shooting scene." JMO

This Ferguson Chief needs to keep his mouth shut since he it is no longer his investigation, IMO. He is attempting to start a jurisdictional pizzing match, IMO. He is pizzing me off. I just saw a clip on TV with him talking.

He was an adult and made his choices. Strong-arm robbery, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer usually do have dire consequences.

The initial shot may have been justified (still not sure on that), but shooting him once he's on the ground with his hands in the air is not.

I don't think anyone has said he was shot while he was on the ground - but rather, he was shot standing with his hands in the air.

There are articles that state he was approaching the officer with his hands in the air. I would be threatened by that, but that's just me. And about the number of shots fired - how ever many it takes to make him stop approaching, that's how many should have been fired.

We'll have to wait and see if it's true that he was in fact coming toward the officer when he was repeatedly shot.

People just want to "know the truth" ? People want their truth. Look up the Alfred Wright case. Some people will not accept anything that doesn't agree with their position.

  • #372
Methinks that would be a decision of jurors, as well as all other witness testimony. JMO

I don't know if there will be a trial. The perp is dead, and it doesn't appear to me the cop did anything wrong.

That seems always the case. There were some people blabbering today on the radio that the video had been photoshopped by the cops and that wasn't MB in the store at all.

I am waiting for more info and the results of the investigation before weighing in on this one.

When the shooting first happened I leaned a certain way. Then this new info comes out and I am tending to lean a different way. When more info comes out I may lean back the way I came or a whole nother direction. Too hard to form an opinion for me yet.

What does that matter?! He was going to learn a skill. Make a life. Do you know how much hvac guys make? A LOT. It could have made a new life for him.

Too bad he didn't consider that ....

All those things are bad. No question but that has nothing to do with the shooting. If he was shot in the car with the officer, Okay. If he was shot while fighting with the officer.. okay.. But if he is fleeing, The cops are not allowed to just open fire. If he was surrendering the cops are not just allowed to open fire.
I think that it is possible this cop was really rattled and made a horrible choice. I think that the evidence at this point shows that he killed this guy wit excessive force and will be charged with something.

I want to know how many times he was shot? That matters to me a lot.

No, IMO it doesn't. He was shot until he was no longer a threat. If that meant until he was dead...so be it.

I agree and this is going to be the part that we need to determine for sure one way or the other.

From everything I can gather, it seems to me that after some sort of altercation verbal or physical, that the kid did try to run away and the officer lost his temper and shot him.

If it ends up being in the middle of a struggle, I will be surprised because it would not explain the community going bizerk.

Officers immediately tell a suspect to turn around and get on the ground and place their hands were they can see them. If the officer shot him in the back, it would be because he was fleeing. If he shot him in his chest it is because he was approaching him and the officer feared for his safety. Either way, this one will be a justified shooting, imo.

Police Chief Thomas Jackson said the officer who fired the fatal shots, Darren Wilson, did not know Michael Brown was a robbery suspect when he initially stopped the teen and a companion "because they were walking down the middle of the street blocking traffic." Jackson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Wilson knew there had been a robbery in the area but did not know that Brown was a suspect.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/darren-...er-who-fatally-shot-michael-brown-identified/

An attorney for the teen who was with Brown on the day of the shooting said his client has acknowledged to investigators that Brown took cigars from the store.

Police have determined that Johnson was not involved in the robbery and will not seek charges against him, Jackson said.
BBM That doesn't mean Wilson didn't back up after he realized MB fit the description of the robbery suspect peeps. jmo
