Family lawyer on msnbc= they have prelim autopsy but will not release it because it is not official.. When they have the official autopsy results all the lawyers, crump etc, will get together and decide when and how to release the results.

Say what?

I feel so sorry for the police officer having to deal with all of this ridiculousness simply for doing his job.

IMO

I think they might be in for a bit of an education about how autopsy results are released and whose property they are. After seeing what was released today through open records requests, it seems MO has almost as liberal a policy on public records as Florida. Which is a good thing, IMHO.

I don't believe that either. I don't think any of us do. But to take a life as a cop you have to have cause. I don't see that yet. Not if he had his hands up. Not if he had already been shot once.
I think this guy was not squeaky clean but that is a long way from deserving to be shot dead in a street.

He escalated it, his behavior dictated what happened. IMO

I did read it. But I don't think it applies here. The guy was surrendering. Hands up.

Personally, I don't know if the use of lethal force applies or not. There are witnesses who claim that MB was "surrendering" with his hands up. One of them, Dorian Johnson, was giving media interviews almost immediately after the shooting. That same witness has proven to be less than credible, IMO, based on his early insistence that he & MB had done nothing wrong when they were approached by the officer.

I initially believed that another witness, Tiffany M., was credible, but I'm not so sure at this point. It's possible she's telling the unvarnished truth of what she witnessed, but it's also possible that she may have tailored her version to match Dorian Johnson's well-publicized version.

Sorry I should have stated this is their personal autopsy they did. :blushing:

Oh! Sorry.

Then I really don't think it has as much bearing - or is likely to be as thorough and reliable - as the official one. Interesting, that they aren't running to the press with it but rather guarding it and planning to release pieces of it sometime or other.

Not at all what's needed. I haven't listened but I can understand her wanting to support her husband and being horrified by this whole situation but publicly speaking like that is just crazy. This is the last thing that's needed. What is with nobody in this community being able to wait for an investigation to be conducted.

OMG I cannot believe that the wife of this cop called into a radio show...to give his side of the story. What idiots! Sorry but do they have rocks for brains? I mean come ON!

Capt. Ron Johnson reacts to release of information - http://www.ksdk.com/videos/news/local/2014/08/15/14113873/

There is an interesting video at the link. It looks like a "new black panther" member (that's JMO) inserts himself between Capt. Johnson and a reporter.

 omg he looks like the guy who played Red Foxx's best friend on Sandford and sons............ notice he had on his big ole chain necklaces and a LEO's hat....hummm

I believe when the autopsy comes out this will be cleared up (for rational people) once and for all.

I truly believe it will show that MB was rushing the cop and was shot several times in order to stop him. When that happens we will have a couple of people here saying "Well, why couldn't the cop just shoot him in the leg?" as if that would stop a 6'4" 300 lb male lunging towards you.

Crump on CNN saying this video tape "demonized" the victim. I think his action in the store demonized himself!

I hope you are right because from what I have read (which could very well be wrong) is he got shot in back then turned around and got shot many more times in chest.

I do hope the autopsy helps clear things up or better yet the cruiser's video tape may be even better if it turns up.

The cruiser didn't have video. If the suspect was shot while advancing etc...the autopsy should show it, and it will definitely show if he was shot in the back. If he was rushing the cop the position of his hands (in the air or not) wouldn't mean anything IMO.

Or they will say it was botched.

Thats a good point about advancing. Wondering if the autopsy would be able to tell if someone is advancing by the size of the wounds.

"Jaywalking" is gilding the lilly a bit, IMHO. They were blocking the roadway on purpose so the cop car and other traffic couldn't proceed.

Is there evidence of their intent? If the roadway was blocked by them there should be a bunch of angry witnesses to the event, having been "blocked in the roadway" Where are they? The Chief tol us via presser that there just isn't any more info to tell us at this time. However, this is not the Chief's case. The FBI may have lots of witnesses, but they are not holding press conferences. The state may, too, but they aren't giving us inf. Al the Chief knows is that he is embarrassed and one of his guys is in trouble. We don't hear from the DA, either because at this time, this is not his case. JMO

I was thinking about that and am really not sure, some rumors say he dropped 3-4 feet in front of the cop so maybe there would be powder on the suspect but kind of doubt it. The size of the bullet holes would probably be the same and quite possibly the angle too.

Come to think of it I would bet that would be a bit point of argument IF it went to court (without powder residue), lawyers on one side saying he advanced several feet and the others saying he didn't. I really hope this doesn't end up in court as that will be a real nightmare.

Crump sees what we all see, and thinks it looks terrible. I'm glad he didn't say "hey the little bitty guy started it" or "we don't think that's Michael". For someone trying to garner public support and outrage in Michael Brown's death, that video is not his friend.

Would have been awesome if he wasn't shot dead for that. Not a death penalty crime. We're talking less than $50. What is his life worth?

maybe he should have paid for the smokes instead of stealing them.

With the release of the convenience store CCTV footage today, I'm now wondering if the reason the Quick Trip was burned down was because word got out in the neighborhood that same day (perhaps via Dorian Johnson or someone else - IDK) that MB had robbed a store before being shot by the police officer, and the local thugs burned down the QT in retaliation because they thought that was the store MB had robbed. There were rumors of "snitch" graffiti being scrawled on the building.

I hope LE is providing protection to the owner of the store MB robbed.

I think there are some in that neighborhood who know what happened regarding the burning down of the QT, but they won't say a word because they're either trying to cover up for someone or they're directly involved in the arson.
