Capt. Ron Johnson calmly speaks to a protester who, a moment ago, screamed for answers. LIVE; https://news.vice.com/article/vice-news-live-from-the-streets-of-ferguson-missouri …

I was just about to post that link but you beat me to it lol!

This is Tim Pool's stream - he was the one out last night. I like his coverage.

He just said that people are being asked to congregate in that parking lot near the looted stores - and that anyone still in the lot will be allowed to stay out past curfew, but they'll be stuck there til 5 a.m.

They lost me in the title where it said "Gentle Giant".

I got punked with the family, Crump, media spin in the Trayvon Martin case. It won't happen again.

Yup I'm riding with you on that train. Jmo

I get this. I also don't think he was shot for walking down the road. I have no idea if he had his hands up. It's likely he had words. I do NOT buy that he attacked the cop. He probably ran.

What the issue is for me is that none of this, not even if he were resisting physically, warrants executing an unarmed suspect.

Give chase on foot or follow by car, call for back up, find him later. It's a $50 theft, he's unarmed, if they're that worried about him strong arming in the future they can always follow up and locate him through typical methods. NO ONE had to die.

Resisting arrest is playing an extremely dangerous game when it comes to LE. One never, ever, ever should even contemplate resisting arrest. When it comes to dealing with LE, do what is ordered and ask questions later. It's as simple as that. Otherwise, things could go south very fast. Even if one has not broken the law and is totally confused as to why they are being arrested COOPERATE fully anyway. Long ago me a bunch of friends were witness to an arrest that we all knew was not warranted (long story), but our friend did precisely what he was told, we did precisely what we were told. In the end everything worked out due to our behavior.

I totally believe that Michael attacked the LEO. It has been reported many times that the LEO had wounds to his face. The links are all over this forum.

Finding him later may have been too late for yet another victim; as someone posted here...who knows what Michael would have done if he was left to run amuck until backup had arrived. IMO, he was a dangerous criminal (see strong armed robbery) and it would in no way whatsoever been safe to the public wait for any time! He posed an immediate threat to both the LEO involved and the public as well.

I've just noticed that my opinions are not in sync with the portions that I've bolded in your original post; but I'm too lazy to switch things around.

Most of this post is IMO except the portions where the facts have already been established i.e.: the video of the strong armed robbery and the LEO involved having to go to the hospital due to wounds to the face.

I will add that everyone involved regarding our cooperation, in the personal event I witnessed was taught to us by our parents, elders and caretakers. We are not permitted to speak of the family involved in this incident so I will say nothing more on our education regarding LE.

I hope that I can add that watching the YouTube video (link provided on this thread)... the cursing, saying the N word, the bystanders feelings and actions alarmed me. Why? Because it's clearly evident that anger and only anger were the only emotion that I heard and saw displayed. If you re-watch the video pay close attention to the bystanders; especially when the man taking the video pans to the left at the crowd. The people that aren't spitting out obscenities and the N word etc... are not in shock they are standing there like they are watching a ball game.

Yes, I realize that a dead man is lying in the street. However, I see no evidence of crying, heartbreak, praying, consoling one another, hugging...too me that tells me a whole lot as I am certain that those emotions would have certainly been expressed had this happened on my street. Not a popular sentiment but it is the truth.

They need pictures, evidence collection etc. Bodies can and do lay in place at crime scenes for hrs sometimes before they are taken away.

Rescue squads do not transport dead people. There are only so many available for 911 calls/accidents/etc. and they must be kept in service when at all possible.

As a first responder, I can say that we do NOT transport dead people. It's out of our hands. He was obviously dead by the time first responders got there and so there was nothing they could do. i have been a first responder at homicides and all we could do was help with crowd control, assist police with other things and await the coroner. It is a CRIME scene and cannot be tampered with. It must be photographed as is, to maintain evidence and to document the situation. Yes it seems harsh but that is how it must be.

Ambulances do not take away potential 'murder' victims. The forensics experts need to come and take pictures, document the scene, pick up shell casings, in case of a trial.

What would have happened if the cops covered up this body and whisked it away in minutes? Crump and the attorneys would be angrily accusing the cops of tampering with the crime scene and messing up the evidence.

Thank you guys. Got it now. :)

The scene in that video just looked so eerie. 10 minutes of nothing, just him lying there for all the world to stare at.

That was a lesson I learned years ago when the deputy coroner told me he transported my sons body in the back of his personal van. I shudder to think of that.

Sooo, Soooo Sorry, Isabelle. {{{heart}}}

That kid following the journalist around with his face & head covered is cracking me up.
He reminds me of so many teen boys I've worked with....he's loving the attention, acting like an authority, in reality and IMO he's scared and doesn't have enough sense to just go home. All IMO
