IMO the community is doing itself a huge disservice to its young people.

Instead of allowing cool heads prevail, allowing a full investigation they martyred a criminal that behaved inappropriately every step of the way.

This case should/could be a very valuable start of a productive dialogue ....

Instead a criminal is elevated practically to sainthood and labeled a victim.

It's wrong.

Teach your children to obey the law, respect yourself and others, don't take what isn't yours, respect authority, keep your hands to yourself.

As far as civil unrest and riots go.... I think this has been incredibly tame.

I remember watching in horror as a police helicopter dropped bombs on a house occupied by MOVE in a residential Philadelphia neighborhood and allowing it to burn.

I remember too the LA riots over the vicious beating of Rodney King and the near murder of Reginald Denny as he was tanked from his truck and beaten nearly to death...

Thank GOD this isn't that.
