The Protesters may not be the ones who disrupt the game. #NoJusticeNoFootball #Ferguson @OpFerguson pic.twitter.com/Yzi4z2f5wo

So now they are saying the players are going to disrupt the game. I kind of doubt that. The way NFL players are dropping like flies from the rolls.
I'd love to see this! I say go for it! Slave to the NFL?? How man slaves make millions? Hope it's worth it and he can find another job that pays as much as the NFL and doesn't treat him like a slave.

O/T but for a giggle. I bought the Nokia 1020 a while back and my daughter was showing all of her little friends bragging about the fact the camera had 46 megapixels!!! They were all in awe with lots of oohs and ahs until one little girl asked me "WOW, are you able to use them all at the same time?!?!?"

Well, in al66pine's defense, h/she was asking a hypothetical, and made it clear it was a hypothetical.

I totally agree with you there.

smear: "damage the reputation of (someone) by false accusations; slander."

MB earned his reputation. If his family and his family's lawyers hadn't made such a big deal out of what a young, innocent boy he was, the information about his thuggery likely wouldn't be such a big deal, either. But they've painted a false picture of "innocent young boy" to smear an innocent police officer. It's totally justified, IMO, to point out facts that show the falsity of that picture. And to defend the innocent cop who has been smeared mercilessly.

There were several posts I was addressing that implied "thuggery", incompetence, and a poor record in regard to Wilson. As to the hypothetical post, it was clearly labeled and I didn't dispute that. Given the tendency by many to take erroneous info and run with it or use it to foment rage in Michael's case, I can't see how that hypothetical serves a positive purpose, again because we already know it's not the case.

Do not use hypothetical examples when there is no proof to base your theory on. It is still smear when enough time has gone by for any thing of a negative nature to have surfaced by now.

You can have theories about what happened but do not try to start up a discussion on a topic of MB and OW that has no validity.

Also, let me add that there is absolutely no, none, nada proof that this shooting of MB was based on race. Stop bringing examples of situations that happened years ago into this forum. They are off topic and have nothing to do with this specific case and only provoke discussions drawing the posters further off topic. Stay with the issues on this case only.

Regarding no sign of injury on OW. My elderly relative fell the other evening on a carpeted floor. As i checked her over the next morning she only had a slight scrape on her knee. Great! Today- her forehead above her eye looks like she had a bout with mike tyson.Black, blue, yellow and swollen. This leads me to believe that despite no immediate sign of injury on ow's face there will be pictures from days later that will tell the tale. JMO

And let's get off of the "they never should have released the video". MB was no different than any other person who commits a robbery. He committed a crime and we see videos of this all the time that are released to the media right away, in particular when the suspect is still at large. The media had the right to ask for it and the Chief had the right to release it.

So let's move on.

How threatened would you or the average person feel if after being punched in the face and tried to take your gun ...by a 6'4" 300 pound man....then man came at you a second time?

FBI stats re numbers of on-duty police officers killed or assaulted annually, including by "personal weapons" such as hands/fists.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/leoka/2012

  • Of the 52,901 officers who were assaulted, 14,678 (27.7 percent) sustained injuries.
  • 29.7 percent of the officers who were attacked with personal weapons (e.g., hands, fists, or feet) suffered injuries.
  • 13.2 percent of the officers who were assaulted with knives or other cutting instruments were injured.
  • 9.8 percent of officers who were attacked with firearms were injured.
  • 23.9 percent of officers who were attacked with other dangerous weapons were injured

What do you all think about the video of the guys where a man can be heard yelling "he had his hands up"?

If you watch the video, the construction worker was talking on a phone when the "Yelling" happened. I don't think the worker said a word. If indeed that phrase was yelled, someone else said it.

:floorlaugh: Players have been raising their hands up after a TD and FG for yrs.

And I bet lots of fans will be wearing their StL Cards caps at Oct. 12's National League Championship Game in honor of MB being so fond of his.

I am actually convinced that the CW was saying MBs hands were in the air and I believe they were in the air as he was taunting the officer and then went at him. But the CWs view was questionable to make a judgment about what that meant. They didn't see the assault and were too far away to really hear. IMO

I always thought this was an issue with the police department. When did it become a "merchant's" issue?

I believe it falls under "no justice, no peace"
