My point of view- everyone we have "heard" from is self interested, and I do not know who to trust until the evidence is in. And it is not.
And that is my last word on that.

My default perspective is to always trust police and authority figures UNTIL and UNLESS there is clear and convincing evidence to the contrary. I don't start from a position of distrust and paranoia. I think I know why some people don't trust police, and it has nothing to do with race, IMO.

DJ, PC, and TM have massive problems with their conflicting stories. It's hard for me to give them much credence at all.

DJ is a proven liar, and I don't believe much of what he's said, except he was with MB that day in the street, and ran away. I don't need him to admit that he and MB were the perpetrators of the convenience store robbery/ assault-- there is video that I can see.

The only thing I think PC and TM should be allowed to testify to is what happened AFTER the shooting. I don't believe either of them saw a thing before that.

They got some tickets. Tickets sell for 7 bucks on the day of the game, lol. So they went inside. But it is ILLEGAL to livestream from inside the game. Against Federal Broadcasting Regs and such. So they are all scattered around inside. Cant imagine what they expect to do inside with all that NFL security.

7 bucks for NFL tickets?? That's less than a matinee movie, in my area. Wow! That's quite a bargain! I'm glad that tickets are very affordable, so parents can take their kids to a ballgame, even if the team isn't the "winningest"!

ETA: Now that I think of it, maybe some of the Ferguson rioters and street mobs should be a good parents and spend time with their kids seeing a ballgame, instead of scrawling profanity and hate speech on the sidewalk, and exploiting the kids to yell death chants on a bull horn! That would go a long way toward modelling good parental behavior, IMO!

IIRC, there are 7 sites collecting monetary donations. Each site leads to the family's attorney. It is my understanding that the funds will provide for a higher education for MBs siblings.

Rev Al went to StL/Ferguson ~first week after shooting- and spoke at church & solicited cash.
Remember, asked ministers to stand, then called ppl ready to give $1000 to come forward, then $500, then $100, etc?
Did he not say at that time we've arranged to pay for college for MB's brother(s) and sister(s)?

I don't have a problem with that. We just have different standards as to the amount and quality of info we need to make a judgement.

Here's what I am hoping happened. Lots of Ferguson locals went into the stadium, planning to 'shut it down.' But when that seemed impossible, I am hoping that they sat back, enjoyed the game, enjoyed the fans surrounding them, experienced the joy and camradrie that comes with watching a big sporting event. And then maybe, just maybe, they had a positive experience with the public at large.

Now, I see zero objective reason to push doubt on either of the chiefs' reportings of ODW's appearance or statements.

Heck, I see no honest or fair reason to assume he's lying, maliciously misleading, or even mistaken about anything of significance.

Even if I had a deep-seated mistrust of all LE for whatever reason, I would consider that he knows he's being watched like a hawk - not only by people with great power, but people with power and agendas, and the truth will come out.

I appreciate that. It seems silly to have to reiterate saying "I do not know yet" here. Yet I am forced to.

My default is to question everything, and I am heartened by the news that there are many more witnesses to hear from. IMHO, everything we think we "know" can change after hearing from more people when that is coupled by forensics reports and the final autopsy. Way too many witnesses and too many official reports we know nothing about.
I could not have an entrenched position if I tried. Sorry if that bothers anyone here but unless we have all that I outlined above, I cannot guess exactly what happened <modsnip>.

It's "smart" to protest "where those who they feel are not like them must be confronted by their message"? I don't consider that smart, unless alienating and angering sizable numbers of people is the goal. The message those newly alienated people receive ioudly and clearly is "those angry, law-breaking black people really aren't like us, are they?"

I am not one who is behind these protests or these protestors. But I can acknowledge when they make wise decisions. It is wise when attempting to capture the attention of others to go to places where you can achieve that.

I have certainly been vocal about the idiotic moves I have seen at these protests so I see no issue with pointing out things I feel were less than idiotic. To me it is sheer idiocy to protest in your own depressed area when the attention you crave is from those who live outside that area.

Again, I think I have been pretty clear that I do not support the protests or the protesters in this case. I agree, they will further alienate people, but I don't think they care at this point (I don't think they ever did frankly) if the "alienate" people. The goal as far as I can tell is continue to be in people's faces with their gripes.

That really doesn't follow at all. Not to speak for Truthy, but I read what Truthy wrote as a statement that the evidence we have is insufficient to make a determination of guilt or innocence. That doesn't preclude a trial or consideration by a Grand Jury, as LE and prosecutors have access to more evidence than we do.

I am so thankful that the protesters decided to be merciful to the families at the game etc....that is so nice of them to do that. Because they could have really "shut down" the game so thanks so much to them for allowing the Rams game to go on.

I hope you're right!! Thanks for the link to the clip of Mr. Shut-It-Down. I knew it was going to be entertaining when in the beginning he stated "I'm with some of my fellow protesters out here", then he motions to his right and there's no one there. No one! Plus, he's not wearing any kind of MB support shirt---he's wearing a Rams shirt. All pointing to a major FAIL before the non event even started.
