They're making the memorial on the street bigger/longer per tweets.

I suggest ignoring them as much as possible, i.e. don't add fuel to the fire. The mid-street memorial inconveniences mainly Canfield Green residents, and if that's that they want, let them have it imo. A fire truck would have no trouble flattening the "debris" if required to do so to get where they're needed.

.... "St. Louis on the Air": A conversation about Ferguson with Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal and Johnetta Elzie. http://news.stlpublicradio.org/post/catching-events-ferguson Senator Nadal : 'eyes on Ferguson'
"I did ask the chief to shut down the street on Saturday, and he said NO. And that was frustrating. We were trying to protest and we were being shackled and thrown to the ground...are you kidding me? We want respect. We are American citizens and we are not treated as such. "....
" And that is the role I take in these crowd situations, to try and calm things down. "....

Ferguson ordinances set forth a procedure for parades, processions in the street, for vehicles or persons.
Ordinance = not complicated to find. https://www.municode.com/library/mo/ferguson/code_of_ordinances/PTIICOOR_CH44TRMOVE_ARTVIPAPR_S44-316PEREEX
Application = not hard to do.
No oppressive lead time necessary. 72hrs notice
Fee not mentioned in ordinance.
Just need basic info about organizer & intended route.
There are reasons for Ferguson procedure - for ex. to coordinate w other local events.

Respectfully, Senator, did you try to comply w city procedure? If you try it next time, you might get a positive response.

(Sorry if this has already bn answered or discussed thoroughly. I'm trying to catch up from last night.
Have not yet listened to interview, sorry if this h/bn covered)

IMO, this forum has done a great job of capturing the truth of what's occurring, like Piaget changing her story today and previously.

Well, I have to disagree. That "memorial" could be hiding any number of things that a fire truck or any other vehicle shouldn't be running over. Things that would flatten tires. Things that would explode. There are good reasons that piles of "stuff" aren't allowed in the street. I didn't even realize the one in the middle of the street had lasted beyond the first day or two. It should be gone post-haste. The one at the side of the street.... well, whatever. But stuff should not be allowed to be piled up in the middle of the street. IMO.

A voice of reason. Thank you.

It looked like it was growing into the path of those trying to turn out of one of the parking lots too. They need to get the flammables off the light pole post haste too. The property owner can't want flames next to combustibles there.

I was thinking snowplow but that is probably a month or two away.

A white couple were walking in StL when they came upon what looked like a beating taking place in the back seat of an SUV. Male started filming and black attacker/s approached, demanding he put the camera away, which the filmer adamantly refused to do. Intimidation failed; he was attacked by 3 black men. Bad guys drove away, as Good Samaritan AA females offer aid and support to the attacked guy, who's a hero imo:

The female being attacked in the back seat refused to press charges when LE caught up with them.

So, wait.... while we were watching the KKK guy plow through the protesters (er... um... the the white guy get surrounded by a mob of screaming protesters), there were more of them down the street surrounding a female business owner? For 25 minutes????? And this is the first this is being reported?

Not blaming the vicitm here, but whyinheck didn't she just run them down? I sure would have. No way I'm sitting there for 25 minutes surrounded by a taunting, jeering out-of-control mob.

Boy, law enforcement there really needs to step up and take back some control. This is beyond outrageous.

LE imoo should have done that a week or so ago. I realize LE is under the eye of the community but many residents are acting like lunatics . Cops have to get control because things will only get worse.

For this weekend
http://fergusonstreetfest.com/

Update, 11:19 a.m.: StreetFest is postponed indefinitely due to safety concerns, the city says.

Toni Roper, the marketing and events coordinator, says in the city's statement: "Obviously, the timing for this isn't ideal, but the safety of our residents, vendors and all participants is our main concern. We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support that we have received and can't wait to see everyone again soon."

"Our city and our citizens and businesses must not be held hostage,"

"The actions of the protesters are costing our businesses their livelihood and our city taxes. This is their goal," he writes. "They disrupt the peace of restaurants, the Farmer's Market and traffic. They are breaking the law."

This past Saturday, a very well known female co-owner of multiple Ferguson businesses was blocked on S. Florissant road. Her vehicle was surrounded by the so called peaceful protectors taunting, cursing, calling her a white bit**. She was brought to tears. They stood in middle of the street, surrounding her vehicle, not allowing her to move. For 25 minutes she was held against her wishes as a hostage, literally kidnapped. The police were down the street a bit further handling another similar incident were a motorist supposedly bumped a protestor who was in the street blocking his path. The mob then pounded on the vehicle causing $1500 in damage (according to a local auto firm). I ask you again, is this peaceful?

I hope to God she sues every last one of those thugs :furious:

I also hope she snapped cell phone pictures of them. Why didn;t she just lay on the gas pedal, it would have been justified.

CALL TO ACTION. WE NEED YOUR HELP

“ILLEGAL PROTESTORS CAUSE CITY TO CANCEL STREETFEST”

I found out today that the CITY has decided to CANCEL this weekend’s Ferguson STREETFEST out of concern for our residents’ safety. While I fully understand this concern, I totally disagree with this decision.

Our City and our citizens and businesses must not be held HOSTAGE.

... More on the page, here:
http://www.iloveferguson.com/321/

Yeah, pretty safe to say the good people of Ferguson have had their fill. Not just of the protests, but the "hug a 🤬🤬🤬🤬" approach to dealing with them.

Excellent points. There should be some sort of negotiations about what to do, involving the residents. I think feeling disrespected is at the bottom of much of the anger there. As long as the residents feel their concerns have been heard and accommodated as much as legally allowed, that should be enough for all reasonable people there.

I saw this story and its sad. Not sure how it relates to the whole MB/Ferguson thing, but I feel bad for that woman. She is going to be dead at a very early age. 3 huge guys beating on her in broad daylight and she doesn't press charges. She must have been warned with her life.

Tweets are calling for people to come to Canfield tonight.

Sorry to miss it. We've got soccer practice.

You know, something productive to do with our children

Here is my issue here. The inmates are running the asylum!

"Protesters" are allowed to walk in the middle of the street stopping traffic.
"Protesters" are allowed to literally stop vehicles on the road by standing in front of them and surrounding their vehicles
"Protesters" are allowed to verbally intimidate people driving their vehicles down a public road
"Protesters" are allowed to interfere with the arrest of a suspect by literally physically trying to pull the suspect away from the police
"Protesters" are allowed to create a memorial of teddy bears, candles and liquor down the center line of a public roadway
"Protesters" are allowed to create a separate memorial of teddy bears, candles and liquor adjacent to a public utility pole
Innocent man in vehicle who was surrounded by "protesters" handcuffed and arrested for accidentally hitting said "protester"
