It is a sad state of affairs when the police no longer do their sworn duty to keep dogs from urinating on memorials. Was this dog a resident of canfield green or was he an outside agitator? What color was this dog? Oh wait it was probley a police dog secretly trained to annoy, harass and make the protesters feel uncomfortable. Paws up-don't pee!

Johnson says he promises the families of law enforcement officers and of peaceful protesters that he will do everything he can to make sure they are protected. He also called on coalitions, clergy, leaders of national organizations, and political leaders to stand publicly for peace.

He says five people were arrested for failing to disperse. He believes one of those people is also facing assault and inciting a riot charges.

Johnson also spoke about the fire that destroyed the sidewalk memorial for 18-year-old Michael Brown. He said the fire started small enough to have been put out with a cup of water, but instead of acting, some people stood watching the fire for 11 minutes until police and firefighters arrived.

Chief Jackson released the following statement
"Towards the end of the City Council meeting it was reported that multiple gun shots were fired in the Canfield apartments area that intelligence suggest was initiated by misinformation about the fire at one of the Michael Brown memorial.

Holding a flag upside down isn't illegal is it?

No. But for American veterans who saw their fellow Americans die in battle, they are distressed to see the flag being displayed in such a disrespectful manner. That is what I am hearing. jmo

I could understand that but I would probably be scared to live down there even if this never happened if I were her. My brother happens to be 6'4" 300 lbs so while that won't stop a bullet, it's probably a little different than a woman living on her own with a kid. And yes, brother is a gentle giant who has been known to flash gang signs and wear a red bandana.

Maybe you should come down to the Venice Cafe & listen to what we're talking about & preparing for

I'll be safe in the hills of Wildwood by mid-Oct

I'm right were Ballwin/Ellisville/StL County all butt together. (Makes for a mess when someone dials 911)

You'll love Wildwood, nice area.

Clearly, these officers demonstrate unbelievable restraint. They've been fired upon, but don't return fire. There is nothing to indicate they hate anyone, desire to harm anyone, or use excessive force. And the uproar and scandal over an FPD officer wearing an I Am Darren Wilson bracelet is unbelievable. IMO, the only ones who should wear those are LE. They face this hostile population, knowing they could be attacked and their service weapon fought over. There is no fear of police here, IMO. These officers know Darren, that he's a quiet, good officer who had to shoot an aggressive felon in the line of duty. It makes sense if they care about him. To imply one officer supporting another means they can't do their job and don't care about civilians is completely illogical, ie par for the course from these perpetually rageful and put-upon.
Yeah, there were LEOs on that line last night who could easily get gigs guarding Buckingham Palace. Having heard some of the chants, I imagine there were times when it was hard for them to keep from busting out laughing; and to stand there with people up in their faces shouting the rudest of insults and threats...well, they have tons more patience than I would in such a situation.

After September, the grand jury will meet "here and there" when they can, since they will no longer leave their jobs 1day/week. #Ferguson 

McCulloch: a judge has agreed to release audio and transcripts of #Ferguson grand jury if there's no Darren Wilson indictment. 

And a lot of LE are veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The ones I know, LE or not, are disgusted, since they've seen people under real distress and oppression.

The things the protesters cite as oppressive enough to fly the flag upside down says a lot about what they take for granted.

DOJ to give update on investigation of Ferguson police department tonight

Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the student center at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley Campus, 3400 Pershall Road

Open to the public

I am very disappointed with DOJ. I am assuming actions of civil disobedience in Ferguson is condoned by them. If not, why remain quiet or spew same rhetoric? Allowing LE to be

http://www.justice.gov/opa/blog/attorney-general-holder-visits-ferguson-missouri

I hope the relative calm that we witnessed last night can be enduring. To a person, the people I met in Ferguson take great pride in their town. They want a resolution. And despite the mistrust that exists, they reject the violence we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks. In that sense, while I went to Ferguson to provide reassurance, in fact, they gave me hope.

Quick, shut the window! Oh dang, hope just flew out. Postponing/cancelling Streetfest, last weekends BS at farmer's market and sport events is an injustice to all peaceful residents. Part of healing is allowing people to return to normalcy. I hope DOJ has stern words that lead to action for those not abiding by the laws.

No justice, no bail!

IMHO seems like the GJ has come close to a decision

Amazing how the DOJ is given the trusted role of seeker and arbiter of truth about LE treatment of residents...

The same DOJ that wanted so much to keep that robbery video secret.

this needs to be bumped

seriously…maybe now they'll start coming down on these people…

glad to see he doesn't seem "ashamed" of his fellow LEOs anymore.

They are only as strong as their management.

IMHO she's the one who started the fire (dayum, now I have Billy Joel in my head) & then started videoing it -- she & the 2 others (Tiffany & DJ aka liars) started this entire mess on 9 Aug, too

And 40 FBI agents and Jesse Jackson arriving in force at Canfield-Green on Sat., Aug. 16, the day after the robbery video was released, was no accident.

Clergy & Officer Ron were spit on . . . plus booed -- what a community!

OMG don't these people work? Gawd, what a scene for the World to see. I totally forgot about Channel 11 (TeeVee free since 2009)

isn't spitting on someone considered assault? why weren't these "thugs" IMHO arrested on spot?! Yeah, I know . . . sorry for quoting my own post but no other StL media broadcast-ed the spitting incident now did they!? Kudos to Channel 11 IMHO for speaking the Truth

Low income families may be eligible for subsidies on electric, housing, health insurance, food, daycare, etc. because they are making minimum wages. Often those minimum wage jobs do not include personal health insurance and the jobs are almost never full time. So even though people are working it is difficult to live on what little money they do receive.

But these resources have already been in place. I hope the public is not being given the impression that these resources have come about because of the rioting.

I'm not a veteran, but I am the daughter/niece/granddaughter of veterans. I've worked with homeless veterans and veterans with mental health issues. On their behalf...and on my own behalf as a citizen of the United States of America...seeing someone dishonor our flag in such a way ticks me off to no end.
