The officer had non-life threatening wounds, officials said. Police did not comment on the circumstances

Mike O'Connell, communications director for the State Emergency Management Agency, said authorities were looking for a suspect.

West Florissant Road from I-270 to Chambers has been closed as police search for suspects. Reports indicate the suspect fled on foot. K9 officers and police helicopters are canvassing the area.
