I really didn't think it was possible that it was her. I was thinking this afternoon about the barges going up and down the river and the debris they tend to drag along with them. (that was hard to type, makes me sick to my stomach)

That brings up an interesting point. Could a barge have dragged a body up the river? Bare in mind I'm not familiar with the area or the river so I don't know if the barges use all of the river or not.

I guess there is a possibility this could be Jacque. It seems the body was found up river, but there is always a chance.
Venneman said Elsberry police started investigating on July 8 the disappearance of Sherri Jane Wood, 50. She had property near the bank of the river at the end of Highway P, he said.
According to the article, it sounds like LE thinks it may be another woman....
The note found on the front door looked to be a suicide note stating, Im going to heaven now; dont bother looking for me. According to Bodley, the note had specific instructions as to where Woods belongings should go.
Detectives are currently working on a missing persons case near the same area the body was found. They are looking for Sherri Jane Wood, a 50-year-old white female. Her property was located next to the Mississippi river at the end of Highway P. Detectives confirmed through relatives that a suicide note found at Sherri Wood's residence was written by her.
I think I read in an article yesterday that LE was actually considering this and have asked the LE in Winfield to contact local LE when more is known about the body that was found. I'll try to post the link if I can find the reference again. That's what was I trying to get at, but I just couldn't say it. I would think that it's very possible. The barges definitely go up and down the river near St. Louis, so I would think they would be transporting near Winfield and Cape.
Jacque is 39-years-old, 5'2" tall, 135 lbs, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
I wouldn't consider 5'2" 135 lbs. to be large-framed at all!
Okay, I have searched and I can only find ONE woman's body pulled out of the Mississippi River on Sunday. At Winfield.
Unless there is a second body not mentioned in any of these news articles... I am stunned that the reporter... or the police did not google.
This was posted in news articles online 24 hours ago, that it was identified as Anna Mulkey.
It also said "small framed woman" in several articles before she was identified. Anna was even smaller than Jacque, only about 100 pounds.
