It is sickening that a woman, scared for her life, seemingly can do nothing about it until it is too late. But I do wish she had not gone to his home by herself, if she feared he would kill her...(NOT blaming her, before anyone lectures me.)
I may be wrong, but I don't think Jacque was scared for her life. I think she was concerned by his statements, as she repeated them to her family. But I get the sense she thought she could handle him, maybe did not think he would act on those threats.
