Naumann is just one of hundreds that JJ Willman touched.

She says the past three and a half months without her close friend have been very difficult.

Police say now some of those questions are answered, thanks to their ongoing investigation, tips, and even Facebook.

They say they searched some parts of the conservation area before on foot and by helicopter but, Saturday was the first time they brought in dogs.

They say they started searching at 8:30 am and about 45 minutes later they found the remains of a young white male.

Police say they hope to bring the person or people responsible for this to justice and they are confident they will make an arrest in this case.

They say they have persons of interest but, no one is in custody.

Woodson Terrace Police Chief Bob Dowling's voice cracked as he expressed his own disappointment at the search's outcome.
"Relieved that we've some closure for the family," he said. "Um, you know, I got kids of my own, and it's hurts." Chief Dowling said J.J's was a "death by homicidal violence".

The chief said he had no other details. He did, however, say there is a person of interest who is not in custody yet.

According to a probable cause statement, a witness reported seeing Meiners beating Willman.

Woodson Terrace Police Chief Bob Dowling said Meiners and Willman were acquaintances and had been at a house party nearby the night Willman was killed. Dowling said police believe the two had fought over woman. Dowling said Willman was killed "in the vicinity" of where his body was found.

Prosecutors charged Keith M. Meiners, 18, of the 2400 block of Goodale Avenue, with first-degree murder. He is being held without bail at the St. Louis County Jail.

How disgusting. Out of curiosity, did this turn out to be the guy in the convenience store picture? I can't tell.

From June 2013:

A young man convicted of brutally beating his friend and leaving him to die in a field was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison.

A St. Louis County Circuit Court jury in April convicted Keith Meiners, 21, of second-degree murder for the Nov. 27, 2010 death of James Robert “JJ” Willman, 19.

Prosecutors alleged that Meiners, jealous over a girl, lured Willman away from a party that night under false pretenses. They say he beat Willman, of Woodson Terrace, then stepped on his throat until he stopped breathing while singing the rock song, "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked."
