Please give any advice or assistance possible, his family really needs to know if he ran off, hopped a train, or if something happened.

He had a go bag but didn't take it. His car was found at a park he had taken his daughter for a walk at the day prior to his disappearance. There are trains that go through the area as well.

Also there is a homeless camp near where he disappeared. The police spoke with them but they said they didn't see anything. We are planning on taking some items they may need down and talking to them to see if they might talk to us. Maybe they just didn't want to talk to the police.

Help needed finding missing man, car found near Blue Ridge & Holmes

@adventurekat hoping some of the folks will talk with you. Maybe someone saw Jason.

How about his phone? Anything?

He didn't bring his phone, his wallet or his go bag. The police have his phone but didn't find anything of use on it. There was an empty gun case in the car but the police can not search the car because there is no body and the car is not in his name. His partner and him were together for many years but not married so she can not give access.

Please let us know how you make out. The fact he went back to the park he had his daughter at maybe he lost something? Just thinking aloud. Praying you find him.

I am local and have done some work with the unhoused in KC, though unfortunately not that far southeast. Does Jason have a history of homelessness?

What is the context of the go bag? I think of them as something you pack in advance for if you need to get away quickly, like if there's a natural disaster.

He does not. I am not sure on the context of the go bag, his partner knew nothing about it prior to this, or that he owned a gun. Because you have worked with the unhoused do you have any tips on us speaking with them? We were planning on bringing them some bug spray, sun screen, bottled water maybe snacks, etc when we talk to them but if you have anything else you can advise that might get them to open up to us it would be very helpful.

Who owns the car? Have police made contact with the car's owner? Did he/she/they give permission to search the vehicle? If not, why? Also, was the car in working condition with the keys located inside?

Depending on his daughter's age, was she able to give LE or a trusted adult a tour of the areas within the park where she and Jason walked the day before? Was there a specific place of interest that he took her? Did they simply walk around the park then leave or did they spend a significant amount of time in any one place (e.g., fishing, bird watching, etc.)?

Has anyone contacted the train company to check the train destinations the day of and after his disappearance? Maybe they can provide specific towns where Jason would have gone if he jumped the train. It might be wise to canvas those areas to speak with locals and post flyers.

The empty gun case scares me for Jason. Do you think he took it for personal protection or was he contemplating suicide? What was his mindset that day and in the days leading up to his disappearance?

I'd advise asking Det. Snyder @ KCPD to reach out to Texas EquuSearch to request their assistance. Jason's family can make the request, but it will need to be approved by KCPD. There's more information at the link below.

Requests for Texas EquuSearch’s assistance must be made by the family of the missing person and/or the law enforcement agency handling the case. If the family requests our help, law enforcement MUST approve our assistance after the request is made by the family.

IME, the unhoused are likely to talk with you if you speak to them the way you would any other person. I'd bring candles, some sweets, batteries and water but not make too much of the donations, don't treat it as a barter for info. A lot of homeless people get lonely and will talk your ear off, which can be lovely and interesting, but you're on a mission, so I'd show his photo straightaway and see if there's a glimmer of recognition, then move on with your search.
