Johnny Thompson is 6 feet tall, 300 pounds and was last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt. Driving a Ford Black F-150 Lic# 654-LXU

Johnny Thompson, 45, was last seen at a friend’s house in Independence on July 5. He apparently had a heated discussion with someone on the phone before he left.

On Sunday, following several failed attempts to reach him, Thompson’s sister called his phone and a woman picked up. She said the woman told her one of her associate’s found the phone near the Central Avenue Viaduct Bridge in KCK and tried to sell it to her.

The fact that his phone was found in the hands of someone unknown to the family is a huge red flag. I'm afraid whomever he had the "heated discussion" with harmed him,

Sadly, Johnny's disappearance did not get posted on the Independence Police Department's FB page.

Independence Police Department (Just a link to their page, nothing about Johnny so far)

I also checked Kansas City Police Department (Missouri) and Kansas City Police Department (Kansas) FB pages, but there was nothing about Johnny. I agree with @GraceG about that "heated discussion." All LE needs is to get access to Johnny's phone records, and find out who Johnny spoke with.

So sorry, I hope you are in constant contact with the police.. by now I would imagine they could see who he talked to last to make him leave.. Is his truck still missing?

What do you mean by get verified??
I've done some syntax on him. Not good. Trying to help via one of his friends.
I guess that was meant more for the sister, verified on the site is a process in which people related /close to the case can speak freely without sources I believe is the condensed version.

Sorry about my posts. Just saw yours. I've been in contact with someone who is on johnny fb list. I have no connection what so ever to his or anyone's disappearance, just fyi. i also go thru an area weekly for my bf. That is near and in independence. So I'm keeping my eyes open to anything at this point.
And continuing to look into his name. I've only given those clue words to the person I've been in contact with. Helping in state is way more dangerous than helping out if state missing.

Just stopping in. My brother has not been found. Detective believes he is the victim of a homicide as does the family. Still actively searching although it has been too long to get a body back in decent condition. : (

I am so sorry you are going through this. He looks like such a sweetheart :(
Has his vehicle been found? I may have missed any update on the vehicle.

Thank you for that. He was a big teddy bear a gentle giant. Still no body or car found. Detective says the river was the highest and fastest he has seen in the 25 years since he has been in Kansas City and if my brother was thrown in the current would have pulled him to the bottom where he got lodged on something or was swept away. It has been over 6 months and we are no closer to finding him. :'(

Johnny has a loved one who has posted a comment on LE's post. I hope this discovery brings the answers they need to move ahead.
