Cooper County Sheriff's Office
On April 15, 2021 members of the Cooper County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a rural area west of Boonville for a report of a possible discovery of human remains. Once on scene, deputies confirmed the articles located were human remains. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Divison of Drug and Crime Control as well as the Cooper County Coroner's Office were requested to assist with processing of the scene. No identification can be made at this time. More information will follow after an autopsy is performed. No other information is available at this time.

This is an update in regards to the human remains found on April 15.
The remains are and have been in the custody of Booneville County Medical Examiner’s office.
They are in the process of an investigation which could take several days due to the condition of the remains.
As soon as more information is released, a new press release will be posted.
