Circumstances of Recovery - Finder discovered the subject while looking for fishing worms along the south bank of the Missouri River. The subject was partially buried in sand and caught on a pile of logs. No ID or valuables were found on the subject. The subject was transported to the Medical Examiners Office. The MEO was located in TMC-W hospital at that time.

A body was discovered Sunday night on a Missouri River sand bar, Kansas City police said.

Homicide Sgt. John Dawson said the body appeared to be that of a man.

"I'd say by the amount of decomposition, it was in the water a long period of time," Sgt. Dawson said. A fisherman found the body near 2300 Riverfront Drive about 7 p.m., he said.

"Police on both sides of state line find bodies," Kansas City Times, 15 August 1983, C11.

The Kansas City police found a body floating in the river near 2300 Riverfront Road about 7:30 p.m., said Detective Judy Riebesell of the homicide unit. But she said the cause of death could not be determined, and the body could not be identified until an autopsy is completed.

I'm confused -- estimated age of 0, but LE specifies there's no ID.

Can't estimate the height, but all parts recovered.

The lone exclusion is an adult.

Okay, so this probably isn't an infant, the estimated age is a typo.

Why didn't anyone estimate the height?

Per a family tree on Ancestry dot com, about 1950 she lived in Ames, Iowa; was married and working as a waitress. Her husband's name was William Vernon Hill. Then by 9/17/1952, she was living at 3433 Wyoming, Kansas City, MO. That address appears to have been a trailer park at the time, per a search of that address on newspapers dot com. Still trying to track where she went after that decade.
