Family searching for missing 27-year-old St. Louis woman | FOX 2

ST. LOUIS — The family of a 27-year-old St. Louis woman is pleading for the public’s help.

Kennedy Walton, 27, has been missing since March 3. Her aunt, Marco Dean, is distraught.

“I have had seizures, two seizures, worrying about Kennedy, “said Dean.

She said Walton lives in south St. Louis, but travels to see her mom and sisters in Belleville.

“She told her she was on her way back over there, but she never did show up,” said Dean. “Jacques called her back maybe a half an hour to an hour later. The phone just rang.”

Dean said the white Chevy Tahoe she was driving was discovered in St. Louis this week, fingerprinted by police, and returned to Kennedy’s mother just a couple of days ago. But there was no sight of Kennedy.

“The truck was found two blocks from her house, which is strange to me. It wasn’t there, and then all of a sudden a neighbor said she watched a man park it and get out,” said Dean.

The night she vanished, Kennedy was wearing black leggings, a black shirt, and a black jacket. She is 5’11’ and weighs 260 pounds.

The family said they filed a missing person’s report with the Belleville Police Department but have no leads.

“We’ve been running around the neighborhood looking for Kennedy, putting up flyers. We’ve also been putting it on Facebook, Twitter, to see if anybody can just come up with anything. If they’ve seen her anywhere, something because we haven’t heard nothing,” said Dean.

Dean has her suspicions.

“There’s like five other Black females missing. That’s weird. That’s not common,” said Dean. “I’m thinking it’s sex trafficking the women.”

Fox 2 has covered stories of multiple Black women that have gone missing from the St. Louis area.

Beverly Logan was last seen on January 26 near Ross Lane in Belleville.

Then, there’s 30-year-old Dana Holt of St. Louis. She hasn’t been seen in town since taking an Amtrak train to Dallas on March 1.

“There’s a lot of internet prostitution going on, and a lot of these girls are being held against their will,” said Coffee Wright, the founder of Missing Person Task Force. “They’re taking a lot of women from the St. Louis area.”

Walton’s family just wants her back.

“She was a gentle giant,” said Dean. “She called me shorty all the time. She’s just a peaceful person.”

If you have any information, you’re asked to dial 911.

East St. Louis is a bad area...This is the same route I took when I went back to Illinois from Colorado.

IMO, if the car was found 2 blocks from her house, I think it was parked by someone she knew.

Bumping for Kennedy. ❤️

I agree it's probably someone she knows. Highly unlikely she was taken for sex trafficking, as her aunt stated. At 27 she would be considered "too old. VERY young teens without family are at the highest risk. She sounds like she had family close who loved her.

East St. Louis is a bad area...This is the same route I took when I went back to Illinois from Colorado.

Just throwing this out for clarity, the CITY of East St Louis is an extremely bad area, debatably the worst part of the entire STL metro, but that’s not true of the east burbs across the board.

Belleville has some rugged areas for sure, but is not even remotely in the same league as East Saint. From a danger standpoint it’s pretty middle of the road as the east burbs go (or at least that was the case in the mid 2010s, I guess it’s possible it’s deteriorated terribly since then).

OT but I’ve made that Colorado <—> Illinois drive on that route a couple times, and a handful of other times on different routes :)

You are right on. St. Louis native and still live in the STL Metro area. Belleville is NOT a bad area.

Or, someone that has her address either from her, her driver's license, etc. The car could have been left there to mislead people away from where she really is.

No description on the "man" that parked the Tahoe or which direction he came from or left too.

Walton left her mother's home in Belleville, Illinois, driving her mother's white 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, at 10:30 p.m. on March 3, 2022. At 2:00 a.m. on March 4, she was seen by her roommate at Show Me's Bar & Grill in St. Charles, Missouri. She never returned to her residence in St. Louis, Missouri and has never been heard from again.

Walton's cellular phone was turned off at noon on the day of her disappearance and hasn't been turned on since. On March 10, her mother's Chevrolet Tahoe was found abandoned in St. Louis, just two blocks from Walton's home. A neighbor stated they saw a man park the vehicle and get out. A photo of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe similar to the one Walton was driving is posted with this case summary.

Little information is available as to Walton's fate. Her family speculates sex trafficking was the reason for her disappearance. Belleville police are investigating.

Kennedy is 5 foot 11. Could she have been mistaken for a man due to her height?

Plus have to consider her weight at 260 pounds.

No disrespect here, but JMO and with her Mom's thoughts above that "she was a gentle giant" my thoughts are that she would be very hard to force somewhere if she didn't want to go (she would be very hard to manage if slumped over, etc.). Just speaking from experience of trying to help elderly relatives get back in their bed/chair, it's very hard to maneuver someone even when they're less than 100 pounds. Though maybe if there was more than one person lifting? I'm thinking she might have left the bar with someone either willingly (tipsy?) or by force (gunpoint?). I hope that bar has cameras that might help.
