Hi, this case has always "interested" me, I'm not sure if that's the right word, "concerned" me might be better. I went to Jeff Jr. but in 2001-2002 and I lived around the corner from the school.

I was only 7 when this happened, but I don't remember ever hearing about her.

I hope she's safe.

"It started out a normal school day," says Columbia Police Department Spokesperson Jessie Hayden.

"Kristina got up that morning, and she got ready for school and she left to walk the short distance from her home to Jeff Jr. High School where she was attending."

But by 10 o'clock that night Kristina hadn't come home. And school officials later told Columbia Police she never came to school that morning.

Details of Disappearance
Kristina said goodbye to her sister and a friend, then departed from her family's residence to walk to school during the morning hours of October 19, 1994 in Columbia, Missouri.

A witness observed a four-door vehicle stop along Kristina's street and watched as Kristina spoke to the male driver. Kristina and the man talked for a few moments, then she entered the car and they drove away. She never arrived for her classes at Jefferson Junior High School and has not been seen again.

Kristina had run away from home once before after she got in a fight with her mother. She and her mother weren't arguing when she missing in October 1994, however. She may have been accompanied by a 22-year-old male when she disappeared in 1994. Her case was originally classified as a runaway, but authorities aren't sure whether she left of her own accord and she is now listed as an endangered missing child. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

From his early 20s through his early 40s, a period that spanned 1976 to 1994, Lawrence Gene Timmons was linked to no less than five separate violent crimes in Missouri, despite spending seven of those years in prison or on parole.

He was charged in the kidnapping and assault of a young boy, the home invasion robbery of a female college student, and the gunpoint rape of a woman, and was questioned but never arrested in the homicides of his first wife and Smith.

Former Perinton town employee charged in cold case murder. Police suspect he may have killed others.

Who was this 22 year old male? Specific age means authorities have to know who he is?

This doe was found in the Mississippi river in July 1995. Kristina appears to be the closest match

I have read this case so many times and wonder why the police were so quick to say she was with a “male companion.” That only happens when the police know who the child is with. In this case, they still have no idea who the man in the car even is.

I know Kristina ran away before but it sounds like she only did it once and that it wasn’t for long either.

The fact that she was listed as a runaway after she was seen getting into an unidentified vehicle driven by an unidentified male is baffling and ridiculous.

This should’ve been considered an abduction from the start, it’s been nearly 30 years and we still don’t know where Kristina is. I believe she was abducted and probably died not long after. I don’t see this case ending with her being found alive.

I came to comment the same thing... the police know something more than the family and the public... she was still a baby...
whatever it is
rest in peace

Bolinger said it is hard to pinpoint her exact last known whereabouts, but he said police have recovered evidence.

"This is an active case and some of the details I can't go into," Bolinger said. "We have recovered some evidence related to the case."

Has this young woman Doe (UP6805) (Kings County Jane Doe - Found May 10, 1997)been excluded for Kristina? I posted this on the Doe's thread, but thought it was worth positing here, too. I wasn't able to find much on either of their cases. Kristina Renae Bishop went missing from Columbia, Missouri in Oct. 1994 at 13. She would have been 16 at the time the doe was found on May 10, 1997. The doe is estimated to be 16-25 years old. Height and weight are close, but not exact. I couldn't find any information on the doe's teeth, but Kristina had a gap between her two front teeth (I'm assuming these were her adult teeth). Kristina had pierced ears, but I couldn't find info if the Doe did or not (she was found after several days in the water, might've been impossible to tell). Kristina had run away to Oklahoma in September of 1994, 1 month prior to her disappearance. Given that she was suspected to be with a 22 year old male, and that she had gone across state lines so recently (and at such a young age), it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to assume she could've made it to NYC in 3 years. I'm new to this, but I thought the reconstruction looked similar enough, given that the doe was in a state of decomposition. Kristina had brown eyes like the doe, but her hair was listed as auburn or brown (not sure if it was dyed, or it could've gotten darker with age. The hairline and texture were similar enough for me to think they looked similar). Does anyone have any additional info for either case? I couldn't find much but thought it was worth posting. I attached some picture of Kristina compared to the Doe and then an age progression of Kristina compared to the Doe.

If this is worth a submit, would submitting a tip through Kristina's NCMEC page be the best way to go about this? Or the Doe Network submission page for a potential match? Even if just for an exclusion? I've never done this before but something is telling me I should, just to be sure.
