Sikeston police spoke with a witness on Friday, July 1, who told them that he was suppose to buy a motorcycle from Larenzle Coleman in early June, but the deal had not come off. Then suddenly, the night of June 26, Coleman had called the witness and told him that he'd just found a motorcycle. Coleman called him again at 3 a.m. on June 27 and agreed to meet him in Howardville with a motorcycle that he would sell him...
The witness, who ended up not buying the bike, told police that Robinson made a comment to him about having been out with the mosquitoes at 3 a.m. getting it for him and damaging his truck's tailgate in the process...
An autopsy determined that Larry Weaver suffered severe trauma to the top of his head with a portion of his scalp missing and his skull exposed. He also had sustained bleeding on the brain and three broken ribs. The pathologist believed the cause of death to have been from "a combination of the way he was tied up," the loss of blood from the head trauma and subsequent exposure to "the elements for an extended period of time," according to a probable-cause affidavit.
They brutalized this man and left him to die:

Missouri does have the death penalty.
New Madrid County Judge Fred Copeland has set aside three days, starting Oct. 25, for the trial of Ronnie Robinson and Elsie Coleman Robinson, according to New Madrid County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lawson.
The husband and wife, who are charged with first-degree murder, robbery, kidnapping and tampering, are accused in the June 27 death of Larry Weaver.
Weaver, who recently had retired from Pittsburg State University, had stopped June 26 in Sikeston, Missouri, as he was returning home to Pittsburg from a motorcycle event. Authorities said the pair, along with Larenzle M. Coleman, were discovered by Weaver as they were stealing his motorcycle. After Weaver attempted to stop them, he was severely beaten, bound and later found dead in a cotton field southwest of Sikeston in New Madrid County.
Coleman is a cooperating witness against the Robinsons, so his case is set for Nov. 14 for an appearance.
