And the lab mix doggie...did they get someone to care for either?

A dog which didn't appear to notice the intruder breaking into the house, albeit the dog was in the backyard. Another neighbor with a German Shepherd in their backyard which didn't bark either.

Thats an excellent point. My boyfriend would just assume I was really tired and just went to bed...forgetting the lights and door. He would mention it in the morning but he would never wake me up. Until this moment, I had not found the father to be suspicious at all but that is very odd behavior. It wasnt like a light on is an emergency.

Now you have to ask your boyfriend that question and see how he answers because I felt exactly as you said....until I asked my husband. Maybe men and women think differently on this? Like I said earlier...surprised the heck out of me at my husband's response. Ask your boyfriend.

In the interview last night, Jeremy said that Deb usually left a few lights on in the house during the night. I guess he meant even when he was home at night, being that this was his first night shift...So, it was not a new thing for Deb to have the lights on all night. Probably not all the lights though...

what baby snatcher comes into an unlocked house, turns all the lights on (or a large portion) and steals a baby.

I thought experienced baby snatchers could walk about in the dark. Why would they want someone from the outside or inside to be able to see them and possibly identify him/her.

And how does mom sleep through someone entering her home, turning on the lights, walking about, stealing her 10 month old, her cell phones, whilst a new kitten and 6 year old sleeps with her in bed? She doesn't stir? Even with a baby monitor on in Lisa's room?

Why am I finding this story harder and harder to swallow.

MOO

Thanks,

Mel

I had the same thought. When I was a child many, many years ago, the only "stranger danger" type message I got from my parents was "do not accept candy from strangers" which, my parents expanded to add kittens and dogs and any other little baby critters, because they knew how much I loved animals.

OT....So now I am sitting here all grown up typing this with 4 cats and 2 dogs in the house and 5 chickens and 4 goats in the back yard. I guess some things never change.

Me too :great: plus 2 sheep and 2 miniature horses in SC.

I think the lost puppy ploy is still used : (

The phones missing has me :waitasec:

Cadaver dogs and tracking dogs work differently.
For tracking dogs, the more humid the climate the longer the scent lasts. The scent is actually skin cells we all shed as we move through an area. The wind or air current also plays a role where the skin cells land. A handler always takes the air current into account as they track.

If baby Lisa was shaken or smothered ,then quickly bagged,I'm not sure there would be much to hit on for either type of dog,but I'm far from being experienced ,so it's just a guess.
Forgive me for not knowing if you are a search and rescue volunteer or cadaver dog handler, Miss James. Do you know if the cadaver dogs would hit on the bathtub if Lisa drown in the bathtub, was found 5-10 minutes later, and then water was drained?

None of the phone story makes any sense to me including the story where Deborah asked her father for his old phone (the day before Lisa disappeared) because hers was having "issues". It is all hinky.

I didn't see that about Debbie's father. Is there a link? Thanks... :)

Regarding this "media deal":

The only link I have seen that mentioned this was a news story where someone answered the door and said something about a deal and they would not talk to the reporter.

I said before that I have a general distrust of things reported in the news as being absolute fact. They are just too quick to twist, misinterpret or flat out get things wrong. There were a few mentions of the local news not being very sympathetic or nice at that time. Now indeed what was reported about a media deal may be exactly what was said but when I read that I wondered if the truth wasn't closer to the reporter being told that the parents didn't want to talk to him (or his station) because they decided to only deal with *insert network here* (national network, another local network, a specific reporter). Or the person didn't even use the word deal but said something like "they are only going to talk to *insert network/name here*. That reporter feeling snubbed twisted that into "they wouldn't talk to me because they have a deal with another network".

I don't think a person destroying evidence by starting a dumpster fire would be concerned about a stray kitten....or even notice one.

When scoping out their escape route and planning where to dump evidence a person might see a kitten. Then, if it is an outside perpetrator, as a way to get more details on the family that person might pop over with the cute little stray...come into the house show the kitten to the little ones...guessing that they might beg mommy to keep it...etc. etc... while the kids are entertained with the kitty, the perp scopes out the house.

If it is mom or dad who bring in the stray it might be something done out of a sense of guilt to placate the remaining kids.

Just another idea.

Given that in the event of a stranger abduction Baby Lisa could be alive, I believe that if LE had any possibility of getting a search warrant or taking any action they would not wait until tomorrow.

Damn. That's a good point; which I'm not too happy about because I REALLY like Angleena's theory!

But! What if they don't have what they need to get a warrant, and they're trying to get this person to sweat? Pressure them a bit? See if they can get this person to say something.

I hope they will check all the video cameras at surrounding intersections to see who was on the road that night in a vehicle. I know that would be a lot of viewing, but it should be done.

You are right. In Kansas City all of the casinos are directly on the river, some people say they are going to the 'boats'. It gives 'eyes on' to the river and the casinos are near the Irwin's house.

Noting for reference. "little mistakes"

"When you're tired and worried about your baby, you're bound to make itty bitty mistakes in time lines", Netz said.
"And they have been pouncing in every little, from what I understand, every little mistake that is made".

There's one more - a video of a family member disputing the lack of cooperation. Does anyone remember that family member's name so I can search for it? TIA.

Is this the one you're talking about?

A judge might want more proof to issue a warrant and so they came back to the house/area.

I've mentioned this on previous days, but not sure if this same crowd was there, so I will mention it again.

What if something happened much earlier in the day but dad went ahead and went to work so as not to raise suspicion? The rest of it was done after dark, before dad got home from work so that he could "find" the baby missing?

I'd sure be interested to know if the neighbor who was there visiting that evening actually saw Lisa with her own eyes.

Oh my goodness! I hadn't even thought of that. That would be terrible!

Who said it was an experienced baby snatcher? And already the house probably had some lights on, so if they wanted to creep around in the dark they'd have had to turn lights off once they got in there.

Also, the cell snatching doesn't bother me because pocketing 3 phones probably doesn't make that much noise. Heck, she apparently didn't wake up when J drove up to the house after work, opened and closed his car door, opened and closed the front door and opened her bedroom door. If that didn't wake her, why would someone trying to be stealthy?

Angleena, I think your theory about warrants and reenactments is really well thought out and explained. You may have convinced me that that is exactly what is happening. Really nice post. Lots to think about. Thank you button didn't seem adequate.

I believe this is the post your talking about. Your right it is a nice post.
