If true, a missing handyman not seen since Lisa has been missing could be the break in this case......

I keep asking myself why they would have security system for the garage and not for the house? :waitasec: Nevertheless, I'm hoping the question why this teen had access codes to any security even if it was just the garage should be answered. Did he work for the Irwins? Did they owe him money? Would that be a motive to snatch a 10 month old baby? Why a baby when there could be other things he could have taken?

I agree with those who think if baby Lisa was abducted, the perp knew her/his way around the house and where all the light switches are and more.
If this hasn't been addressed... I think the code is just a garage door opener keypad code - not a security system code. Probably how somebody would get in if taking care of family pets when the owner is away rather than giving them a key. The code can always be changed afterwards and much easier than changing locks from a duplicate key being made. Most dont change the code afterwards, though.

yeah, where's a link. I have not seen one & probably have read every post on this case. If someone has seen it, please share (going to search) !

Found reference: Detectives also went door to door asking neighbors about a local handyman who hasn't been seen since the infant, NBC News reported.

Elizabeth Smart WAS NOT kidnapped by a handyman.

Correct. She was kidnapped by a crazy man who did some handyman tasks for the Smart family. A hair split IMO.

Elizabeth Smart WAS NOT kidnapped by a handyman.

IIRC the man who kidnapped ES did do work on their house, ES said he was trying to help the man out...if wrong, please correct me :)

imo. Birthing/raising a baby cost more than the divorce & phones..just saying. The divorce was/is not a priority. Sadly none of it matters now.

I was only commenting on the comparison of buying cell phones instead of being able to afford a divorce. The cost of birthing and raising children has nothing to do with what I posted... or this case, for that matter.

You are correct. That's how Brian David Mitchell saw Elizabeth for the first time...when he was working on the Smart's house.

Could be they just recently heard about him, possibly from a neighbor. As for releasing his name, I don't think they do that unless they have more to go on than him just being someone they want to talk to. They're not going to put out fliers with his picture on them unless he is actually a POI. At this point, it's just someone they need to talk to. But if he has any priors, they will want that info before they question him, sort of ammunition in case he refuses to talk to them.
I would think they've already talked to most of the neighbors within several blocks, so I'm guessing this is just a guy that did some work around there and doesn't live in the neighborhood, maybe not even the same town.

I believe they know who did and didn't answer the door when they canvased the neighborhood. I am sure they know who was out of town and what not.

The picture of Lisa at the computer desk had a pull out keyboard drawer so I believe they had a desk top computer.

Noticed that picture too but didn't discount that a lot of folks prefer a regular keyboard hooked to their laptop instead of using the laptop keys. Same as a lot of folks hook a mouse to a laptop instead of using the "onboard" mouse.

Hence the keyboard picture did not make me automatically assume that it was a desktop computer.

What good does it do him to burn the clothes in the dumpster? How did this man know where Lisa's room was, when all doors were closed? How did he know JI was at work? Why did he put the screen back on after climbing through the window? Why did the dogs not bark? Why did the baby not cry? Why did he take the phones?

I have a possible answer to your second question only. :waitasec: Maybe Lisa's room had a tot finder sticker (like for firemen) on her window, and if the intruder did go in thru a door (rather than window) he was able to figure out which room the window was in. Not saying that this is my theory, but I believe it could be done.
