I suppose if you were going to snatch a child you wouldn't park the vehicle on the same street but somewhere else. Especially at 2 to 4 am, when everyone is asleep the perp would feel confident he could leave with child walking down the street.

We don't know if it is a fact the neighbor saw this or not do we?

The dead woman they found 12 miles away. Wonder if the perp had help in taking the child and it was this woman. Once perp had baby, he offed the woman who helped. MOO

My impression of video, FWIW: real fear and grief, trying to hang together and keep hope.

The last sentence or so was misspoken. "Help her bring her back home" Likely just a pronoun slip. But perhaps a freudian slip (that is, they think a woman might have her?)

I didn't get to watch the presser but I've been reading everything for the last 2 days. Isn't it strange with the near perfect weather the dogs were not able to trail her scent? I really don't know much about SAR dogs so maybe it's not that odd. Anyone hear anything else about the dogs?

TIA and as always JMHO

Praying for Baby Lisa & her family.

The woman discovered on N. 120th and Northeastern last night really gets me... she has since been ID-ed (http://www.kansascity.com/2011/10/05/3188820/police-identify-woman-found-dead.html) but COD has not been revealed. No offense, but the photo they include of her on the website is little weird... she looks like she might be on drugs.

Compared to Kansas City south of the river, there really isn't that much crime near where this woman was discovered. It makes me wonder if there is a connection or if it's a coincidence.

She's standing, there are pics of her standing.

I do wish they'd get a more accurate size for her, if she's really 30 lbs, i think they should tell the public that this would be a very large 10 month old and may appear to be much older. I also agree it wouldn't be hard to make her look like a boy.

I agree - when I first read it I thought NO WAY is a 10 month old that big! 30 inches and 30 pounds? So I googled the height weight charts, and that actually only puts her slightly above the 100% mark - and there are babies that are smaller/bigger than the 100% range. She looks big in the pics - I agree she could be mistaken for an older baby by the public.

I've been wondering about this too. Also, it would certainly be easier to hand a baby off if they really used the window to get her out. Much easier to leave the area with the baby too, one person to drive, the other to hold & calm the baby.

We don't know if it is a fact the neighbor saw this or not do we?

Despite some unclear assertion about the sighting of a baby-carrying man on street perpendicular to Lister being "discredited" I really don't think that is the case. It hasn't been repeated, and it might have been a reporter confusing "no solid leads" with "nothing was seen". It would have been natural to foot travel at that hour, under cover of darkness in a sleeping neighborhood.

Is their home on a thru street?

We live in a subdivision and I couldn't tell you who or how many cars go up and down the streets, and if I do see a car I don't recognize I don't give it a second thought.

If someone intent on kidnapping had been following her for a while, I would think that it wouldn't be too hard to remain undetected. They would also figure where to park the car while they abduct her.

The neighbor was on tv talking about a strange man that she questioned that day. She said she kept asking him where he lived. I saw it on one of the local news stations.

It totally looks like a mugshot. Are KC court records online? Bet she's got charges.

it is not a thru street

in fact it is the polar opposite of a thru street

reporters have described it as an area that you would need to be a local to know how to navigate it

Y'all know me as a cynical and suspicious person when it comes to caregivers. I just am not feeling anything bad towards the parents. I'm just seeing a standard parallel investigation by LE. I'm not feeling a stranger is involved. I don't think anyone broke into the house. What I do wonder about is sibling rivalry. I hate to go there. These kids are so dang cute. I know we can't sleuth that without good reason and I don't want to either. It is just something that is on my mind.

If a mod needs to delete this post, that is ok with me.

Thanks for that info. I had heard of "strange man seen in neighborhood on Monday" and wondered if this were IN ADDITION to the sighting of the baby-carrying man. Clear now that it was. Have you heard any physical description of the mystery man/men?

SuziQ I totally get it and agree but until we know more about their backgrounds we will never know. LE sure doesn't seem to be in that direction though.

I think it's definitely a mugshot. And I'd also be willing to bet that she's on drugs in the picture. This is just my opinion, but I think since there has been no COD released that the woman probably OD'd and they are waiting for toxicology reports to come back. I read this morning that the men who found her were running. If they had seen that she had been stabbed or shot, I think it would have been reported.

That was my first thought as well, but if she OD-ed, then why is her death classified as a homicide?

Oh, yes, it is confusing to an outsider. ex: N Lister and N Chelsea meet in 2 places - they should run parallel with KCMO street logic

N Cypress Ave and N Cypress Dr also meet in 2 places - again should not, should run parallel

NE 37th goes for a couple of blocks then runs into N Chelsea (2 doors up from her house) then you have to go up N Lister to pick it back up.

These are just a few examples of this small neighborhood! It also is situated in the hills, so the streets tend to contour to them.
