I wonder if there is any coinidence that the fathers first night of work was the night the baby was taken, if so then it had to be someone that knew that. Also it seems it would have to be someone familar with the babys room, I doubt someone just walked by and saw the baby if the area is as remote as they are saying. Someone knew there was a baby there and someone could have known that the father wasnt going to be home. If they had gotten robbed earlier that thief might have seen the baby then come back later for her. I cant wrap my head around it being a totally random act.

Doubting a "stranger" attack is natural - that rivalry, however, could extend to other members of the family or extended family - the young uncles or an estranged family member or even, God forbid, a "medea by proxy" attack on the baby by Deborah's angry ex. If there were a clear reason to suspect I think it would have leaked out by now, however.

There ARE crazy people who do things that are crazy. The worst is almost too bad to talk about.

I wonder if during the garage sale there were larger items that they couldnt get out of the house to put on the lawn and allowed people to come in and look at it? Probably not but throwing it out there. I also hope that while she was being interviewed they had her look at mug shots of local RSO's to see if she noticed any of them. IMO

Items for sale (and their dates) on Craigslist were a HUGE clue in Laura Ackerson's case. Might be worth investigating.

I agree - when I first read it I thought NO WAY is a 10 month old that big! 30 inches and 30 pounds? So I googled the height weight charts, and that actually only puts her slightly above the 100% mark - and there are babies that are smaller/bigger than the 100% range. She looks big in the pics - I agree she could be mistaken for an older baby by the public.

The size and weight have been checked and confirmed per local reporters (who thought stats must have been overestimated) Her dad is extremely tall. Mother is not tall, but is full bodied. Pictures (especially the "door pic" show a tall baby, and I think that's just what she is.

That was my first thought as well, but if she OD-ed, then why is her death classified as a homicide?

I didn't know it had been classified as a homicide, last I heard it was just a suspicious death. But I am not 100% sure.

Here's a little blurb from Alonzo Washington's blog. For those not local, he's a big crime activist in KC. It sounds like he thinks her death is drug-related.

Sorry for going off-topic. I just don't think this woman's death has anything to do with Baby Lisa.

I believe LE dusted the window with the torn screen for prints ...wonder what they found ?

Can't see their house from anywhere in the woods. The woods are really close, but the way the terrain of the neighborhood is, not visible from each other. You could see a few houses down if they follow a little ravine up the back of the yards just to the south of their house, but not theirs.

Hi....first thank you for all your help.

I have been wanting to ask since yesterday....do you have street lights in the area? Is there some kind of lighting near the family home?
How gutsy of someone to open a screen and a window on the front of the house and take a child (and perhaps other items).
Another question....are the residents older/retired or younger with kids...or a mix of both?

Again...thanks.

she's adorable!
"We just want our baby back," said Lisa's mother, Deborah Netts through sobs and tears while hugging the Barney plush toy. "Please. Bring her home. Our two other boys are waiting for her."

A stranger is what I'm hoping for since it might be the best option for a happy ending. A woman who wants a child and resorted to stealing one to make that happen. Maybe LE should start asking the public to call regarding anyone who suddenly appears with a new child claiming to be theirs? I hope this baby is being taken care of.

She is SO precious!!!

What about the dad's ex? Didn't she live in the house at one time? Maybe jealousy?

You may be right, since the Star hasn't released COD.

The reason I thought it might be a homicide: I looked the KCPD daily homicide analysis yesterday (I was going to post information from there for this thread, but decided against it), at http://www.kcmo.org/idc/groups/police/documents/police/bluesheet10511.pdf.pdf, and yesterday there were 87 total homicide, 5 of which in Shoal Creek listed.

Today, there are 88 total homicides, 6 of which in Shoal Creek. The Shoal Creek Police Patrol is where the woman was found.

It might not be her though.

(Sorry if my writing isn't very clear, I'm working while writing this, and I'm not the best multi-tasker! :P )

If the thinking is someone took her because they wanted a baby....why look for her in the woods?? Was it said she had a cold? Was she being given medication??

Oh my goodness, Hazel. That picture you posted is just adorable. Everytime I see a new picture, my heart just breaks. This poor family. :(

Thanks for your on the spot reportage.

I read something earlier today about sleeping arrangements in the house. Baby in one bedroom, each boy in a separate bedroom. Presumably there is another bedroom for the parents. Is that house really a 4 bedroom house- it doesn't look that large.
Thanks.

I truly believe this was an abduction. By who I don't know. I just think this is so different from the AL case. JMOO

Yes, street lights. The intersection 2 doors up from them is very well lit. Most of the neighbors are older, but it is really mixed age wise. When I was a kid, it was saturated with kids. Now the kids are grown and parents still live here or kids now own the house they grew up in or bought a house in the neighborhood and still live there ( me, included!). I bet about 30% of my neighbors are the same people as when I was a kid (1970'ish)! Quite a few original owners or their families in the same house. They were built in the 50's!
