Interesting.

I'm not sure what it is about the "lights left on" factor, but I find that deeply creepy for some reason.

It is the brazenness. Almost like those burglers who sit down and eat leftovers from your fridge. Making themselves at home

  • #362
ITA :waitasec: could they be thinking the cellphones were flushed down a toilet, and that's why they are looking in the sewers?

Strange,if true. That,IMO, is the kind of thing a child would do, if they wanted to get rid os the phones in the house. MOO Or someone who didn't understand that the pings would give away a location...MOO MOO

I do too! It is a feeling with a dream/nightmare quality to it with me. Never have had this happen before.

nursebeeme: Thank you for the timeline. Do we know what time Dad left for work?

  • #365
Were the bedroom doors open or shut?

Was there a monitor in Lisa's room?

Why were the lights left on? If this was a planned abduction, the abductor couldn't have thought to take a flashlight?

  • #366
I thought about that, too - but who would leave a baby home alone? Seems to me that if someone saw the baby, they'd realize a parent was somewhere nearby.

Yes, very true, but what if they came there to rob them thinking no one was home

than saw the baby and maybe the baby started to stir and

they only then realized someone must be home,

grabbed the baby so it would not cry and ran out of the house,

Monday October 3, 2011 10:00 p.m. Last seen in crib wearing purple shorts and purple shirt with white kittens on it.

**Possibly seen by Mr. Parscale (a man that lives in the area) according to his wife Lisa around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday wearing only a diaper being carried by a male. Quote from Lisa--“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

**Parscale says her husband saw the man walking on a street perpendicular to North Lister, where Lisa Irwin lives with her parents and brothers.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 3:30 a.m. (first report stated it was 4:00 a.m.) Father returns home from work and discovered baby missing from crib.

UPDATE at 2:00 p.m. October 4 presser Capt. Steve Young speaking—Parents’ story has no holes. Looking into neighbor that possibly saw Lisa being carried by the male. No suspects other than neighbor sighting.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 approx. 7:00 p.m. amber alert cancelled. Lisa is considered a MISSING/ENDANGERED JUVENILE. Per police the alert has served it’s purpose. Police and dogs will search for a while into the night.

*** Tuesday night authorities searched a van and car at the home. There is no word on what police found or were looking for. Officers searching for the child focused on areas near the family's home such as railroad tracks near the north side of the Missouri River and a wooded area behind the home. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-aut...rch-for-missing-baby-20111005,0,6273053.story

Next news conference sometime this afternoon.

2:00 news conference—Jeremy spoke with Deborah (Bradley?) by his side. Begged for baby to be dropped off somewhere safe. The brothers are waiting to see their sister. Declined to take questions.

Again, Capt. Has no leads, not ruling out anything. 300 knocks and searches. 46 tips. No ransom note. Family is free to go where they would like. Family does not want to be at house.

**Alleged sighting of Lisa with a middle aged white male and female at a Love’s gas station in St. Joseph, MO I-29 and US HWY 169. Driving older model SUV. Article came out around 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video has been turned over to LE. Police say it doesn’t seem to be a major lead.

Thursday October 6, 2011

**Jeremy and Debbie provided LE with a list of 9 names of people that could be possible suspects.

**Per Debbie regarding cell phones and possible other missing items:

~one of the cell phones did not work.. all three were on the counter and she was in the midst of reprogramming them/putting numbers into them

~phones were gone

~she did not notice if anything else was taken.. all she cares about is that the baby was gone.

** police detectives are meeting early this morning to talk about where to search next.

**per Debbie, “Lisa is very sweet and will go to almost anybody.”

Did The mom have her own car? Reason I ask,

What if whom ever took Baby Lisa, thought no one was home,

with the information now coming out that all the boys and Mom were asleep in one room then maybe the door was shut

and the Abductor thought they had the ability to do what they wanted...

Yes. I can't find the link right now, but the night they were questioned until 10:30 (Tuesday I believe), they also searched 2 vehicles, a van and a car. So, the car would have been at the home, but not sure where it was parked (garage or not?).

Strange,if true. That,IMO, is the kind of thing a child would do, if they wanted to get rid os the phones in the house. MOO Or someone who didn't understand that the pings would give away a location...MOO MOO

I think a lot of people don't realize phones can be pinged.

Apparently the pings have not given away location though...?

I don't think cell phones can be flushed down a toilet, aren't they too heavy? I remember my brother once trying to flush a part to a pen down the toilet and it just sat at the bottom of the bowl.

  • #372
I do too! It is a feeling with a dream/nightmare quality to it with me. Never have had this happen before.
Gave me goosebumps the first time I read it. It's the one thing that most causes me to fear for the baby's safety - if indeed this is a kidnapping. As SilkySifaka says above, "brazenness" - "See what I have done to you."

  • #373
exactly! The lights left on implies a certain amount of bold, in your faceness. Almost like a taunt. see, I can come into your home, make myself at home AND take off with your precious. All the while as you and your other precious ones sleep just rooms away.

Amps up that surreal creep factor, at least to me.

I just can't see someone breaking in to steal a tv and leaving with a baby. If a baby started to stir you would think they would just boot it out of there. Taking a baby would be more hassle than anything. Besides, if you have to carry a baby out, who's going to carry the electronics out? I think the plan was to remove the baby.

I keep thinking about it being the fathers 1st night back to work. Maybe the mother left the lights on for security or something. I'm sure she would have mentioned it but when my husband is away I tend to leave some lights on. IMO

Also, i'm thinking if the POI took the cell phones, he could have just threw them randomly so that they wouldn't beable to make calls quickly. again IMO

bbm

That's interesting - can you explain the connection/your belief more? I'm not feeling well today and may be missing it somewhere... But the lights being on baffles me completely - just can't understand why someone would do that and risk being seen/waking up the entire household. :waitasec:

ETA: I'm not questioning your theory here - just I find it interesting and want to think more about it. TIA!

Honestly I don't know and I am trying not to think about it just letting it come together slowly. Maybe like a tire salesman coming home and finding a tire leaning against the front door?

  • #377
I don't know about this pinging stuff. But can the pings be found without the phone maybe with just the phone number? Help me out here. TIA

(respectfully snipped and bolded by me)

Does this mean the house phones (landline) were all gone as well???????

That is most bizarre!

Brazenness

  1. Kidnapping an Child when parent is home
  2. Turning lights on and leaving them on
  3. Taking cell phones
  4. Leaving and or entering Front door that is facing street.

  • #380
I'm leaning towards that theory as well in light of what the Lisa's mom said in the PC. She said their family was now complete with Lisa's arrival <paraphrasing>.

I may have missed discussions about the home. Did they purchase this home together or was it a home that one or the other previously lived in and the other moved in? Who else may have had a key to the home?

He bought the house in 2002. She has been around for approx a couple of years. don't know when she actually moved in, though. It was the boys playing outside that caught my attention about 2 years ago. Very cute kids.
