Trenton D. Ivy, 31, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Marquisha Williams.(St. Louis County Justice Center)
Authorities found biological matter in the Jeep that was later linked to Williams. While in custody in Racine, authorities say Ivy admitted to killing her “by striking or strangling her.” The autopsy shows Williams was strangled and had multiple contusions on her head that were consistent with being struck.
According to the medical examiner’s investigation, Ivy’s phone was “pinged” at the location where Williams was found. On Dec. 24, 2023, Illinois State Police searched the area, unsuccessfully, for evidence in the case. Four days would pass before Williams was found in that same location.
Six days after Ivy admitted to killing Williams, authorities again canvassed the nature preserve around 10 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2023, and found her body. She was found lying on the ground about 10 yards from Algonquin Road, covered in a blanket with a tree limb placed on top of her, according to the medical examiner.
The medical examiner reported the manner of death was homicide, and the cause was strangulation
A man who allegedly killed the mother of his four children in St. Louis County is accused of driving her body more than 300 miles to a nature preserve in the Chicago suburbs.
