This is an interesting and sad case. The reason I say this is that this man pleaded guilty to crimes that many many men are pleading guilty to every single day. What makes this case unique is that this man was a firefighter, schoolbus driver, churchgoer, real estate agent, parent.....and monster. It's also unique as we have an excruciatingly detailed but poignant document which describes exactly what a pedophile does and exactly what a young child experiences. The words of the little girl will stay with me for a long time.

Under the terms of todayÂ’s plea agreement, Benson also agreed to plead guilty to state charges of child molestation, statutory sodomy, and sexual exploitation of a minor child in the Circuit Court of Christian County, Mo. TodayÂ’s charge replaces a federal indictment that was returned on Oct. 15, 2009.
By pleading guilty today, Benson admitted that he used a file-sharing program to download a video of child from the Internet on Jan. 22, 2009. Benson possessed more than 600 images of child , including images of children under the age of 12, images of sadistic and masochistic conduct, and images of a minor with whom he had contact....."

Remember, the child is eight and the man is a 260 pound adult. This occurred at a child's birthday party. She said, "I was scared to tell my parents because they like him and I didn't think they would believe me." It looks like they most certainly did, thank goodness. Because of the guilty plea, the child did not have to testify.
