Emergency crews responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night to reports of three people in the river near Island 522, also known as Mason Island. Two made it out; one did not.

Crews are still searching the Mississippi River. This is very close to the marina where we keep our boat. Unfortunately, I was unable to assist in the search due to family obligations over the weekend.

They are still looking but the wordage they use is for a recovery, as he is presumed drowned. Body Found in Mississippi

According to a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived at the river around 8 a.m. and spoke with employees from a construction company regarding reports of a body.

When I started this thread, it was initially reported as a boat accident, then changed to people just being in the water.

This person has been named in the Mississippi River FB boating group I belong to but, to my knowledge, has not been named in MSM.
