A son is grieving the loss of his parents after they were killed around 4:00am Sunday in a robbery at their home in Tunas, Missouri.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Joseph and Brandy Allen, both in their early 40s heard a noise outside when they showed up with guns to find that someone was trying to steal their cars. A shootout ensued leaving the couple dead and a pick up truck stolen...

...Sheriff Rice says the suspects stole Joseph Allen's pick up truck, which was recovered abandoned in Macks Creek. The suspects also tried to steal another car before leaving the scene.

"They attempted to steal an older El Camino that had been fixed up, but he got high centered in the driveway and it was left," says Sheriff Rice.

Senseless. Didn't even get the vehicles. Can't even fathom the pain (and rage and sadness) their children are feeling. Awful, awful, awful...
