This is bizarre. Does the mother know the suspects? I mean, two men driving along, seeing a woman giving birth, and they decide "Hey, let's take the baby"?

Yeah, the way I read the notice was that Steven and the mother were terminating the rights of the unknown bio father. Right? Or no?

I read it differently. That the bio mother and the legal, but not bio father are being given notice that their parental rights were being removed.

Thanks! I'm still trying to put this together but what's becoming obvious to me anyway is that this case is likely a domestic one and not a stranger abduction. MOO.

Even if it isn't a stranger abduction (which I'm praying it's not) the baby is still in extreme danger. I can't imagine these 2 men having any idea how to care for a baby that is just hours old, let alone any sort of medical care she will need.

In light of the termination of parental rights issue......
The mother is probably the partner of Steven, and the newborn is their child. They have probably been notified that they were to relinquish the newborn at birth and this is their way of making sure that doesn't happen.

ETA: SO glad she's been found safe. I still wouldn't be surprised if my scenario isn't the truth.
