This whole story just doesn't make sense to me. Why were they all gathered at this on-duty police officer's apartment? It was almost 1 in the morning. She was married. It just doesn't make sense that they would really be "playing" this game with a revolver. With one bullet in the chamber, and two pulls of the trigger already done, the likelihood that it would fire when he pointed it at her was extremely high. I just don't see her willingly standing there and allowing it.
Exactly. The more you pull the trigger, the higher chance of getting shot. And what were two male cops doing in the apartment when they were supposed to have been on duty patrolling the area?

He slammed his head against the window of the SUV, breaking it.
Oh yea *palm to forehead* I apparently forgot about that part. Thanks :)

thanks for the updates! I was AFK.

so yes we now have the mugshot and the presumed validation that shooter was in the hospital since the incident.

what I would like to know next is the identity of the third officer, if there was any evidence of sexual activity/assault, and toxicology report.

then I want to hear what honest and transparent policies will be enacted to assure that this does not happen again. for everyone's sake.

Curious if he was able to post the $50,000 cash bond?

That is interesting, if the police union ponied up the cash, as they usually do in officer involved shootings.

They don't differentiate between something that would be appropriate and something that is completely unexplainable.

Interesting article offers a few more details about officer’s arrest and the lawyer hired by deceased officer’s (Alix’) family.

St. Louis officer accused of killing colleague in Russian roulette-like shooting is booked into jail

Basically, article says Hendren was taken into custody Monday in his room at SLU Hospital.

Bond was set at $50,000 cash only. Hendren’s Attorney trying to get bond reduced to 10%. Judge will address that issue on Wednesday.

Alix’s parents have hired a legal team to “ensure that a thorough investigation is performed.” Looking into all avenues, including civil litigation. Family is convinced there are questions about the circumstances of the event.

Will take 12 to 16 weeks for toxicology results.

Not sure if officer’s police car had GPS.

Hendren has been suspended without pay.

Drug and alcohol testing shall be conducted ASAP, but no longer than 3 hours following the incident.

Hope this helps, GarAndTeed.

Mercedes, can you summarize? It's behind a paywall for me. If you don't have the time or energy, that's fine- I'm sure I'll get caught up soon. Thanks for the link!

Sure, I revised my original post for your convenience!

Thank you SO much!!!!!

You are welcome.
I was very pleased that Alix’s family hired an attorney to look into the circumstances of the shooting.

What time did she arrive at the house? I think their shift started at 11:00pm and they called in the shooting at 12:56pm, she was declared at 1:06am. I just wonder how long she was there.

I wonder that as well. We know she was off duty. I wonder what shift she worked? Why did she go to his apartment and why were the on-duty officers there. They were meeting for some purpose clearly.

I guess I tend to believe that he really didn't intend to shoot her and that was an accident. However, what led to the shooting is a mystery. I just am not buying the "russian roulette" angle. Not entirely anyway. There was something else going on there. That second on-duty officer that was there HAS to come clean. Maybe he already has.

Why am I thinking sex & drugs & R&R (Russian Roulette)?

Looking forward to toxicology results.
