Sympathetic remarks about Officer Alix.

Warrants issued against Hendren, manslaughter charge. Cautious about what they will provide. Won't be able to answer certain questions.

Plan to track movements of officers and make decisions
Supervisors and watch commanders will verify locations hourly GPS or radio, etc
Will replace all old laptops, which house GPS systems
Circumstances more reckless and dangerous since his first public comments
Says CA's remarks were "offensive and insulting" WRT claiming obstruction
Investigators have a lot of experience
Says investigators and IA unit followed procedures to the letter
Reassuring public the officers work hard, in spite of several recent negative news items
Q&A
Received another court order from CA, didn't say what it was
Can't comment on what they know right now or speculate. Investigation ongoing
Isolated incident, no reason to believe widespread
GPS equipment they do have is 10 yrs old, need to replace 40 laptops
Not a larger cultural problem in the dept. They hold people accountable if necessary
Will assure everyone they will hold officers accountable. Other serious internal investigations going on now that the public isn't aware of.
They follow regulations to the letter. Anything CA is legally entitled to, she will get
Won't comment about whether he doubts current account of the incident.
Investigation ongoing, thorough and competently done
Won't discuss CA or her requests, search warrants and subpoenas can address that
Have talked to mother and husband, to console and support them. Didn't discuss details of the investigation with them
Why are officers on CA's exclusion list still working investigations? He says doesn't understand why some officers are on the list, so he is still sending them over on investigations.

This thing is bananas. He just called the CA's formal complaint against the FIU as "offensive" and "irresponsible". Appeared somewhat defensive in these statements. JMO.

Cops: Officer Who Allegedly Killed Colleague During ‘Game of Russian Roulette’ Gave Himself Black Eye

I gotta say, if you have a mugshot with a black eye you gave yourself, it is surprising that his name isn't "Homer Simpson". This guy is some mental giant. Aside from the fact he shot someone playing Reverse Russian Roulette. The impossible stupidity here really makes me wonder about the assessment and hiring process for this department.

bbm

I don't treat that as a fact - just a 'claim' by the officer(s). moo

Reporter asked "...but you didn't say she is wrong". Interesting.

My interpretation: I can't talk about the investigation; I'm here to defend our investigation.

Valid point, which only serves to enhance the premise, this guy is no Einstein.

Someone asking about black eye of officer. Can't comment on how it occurred. Part of investigation.

Conference over. He kind of walked out in the middle of another question.

That‘s his favorite reply. :D

I didn't hear if anyone asked how long the investigation might take? Anyone else? Have a feeling this is going to drag out. After reading the CA's statements about what she saw in reports and the probable cause statement, I'm pretty sure there were drugs involved. JMO, though. She all but said as much. If it's in the probable cause statement, it usually means there is something in evidence at the crime scene, no?

Reporter asked "...but you didn't say she is wrong". Interesting.

when asked about the third officer:
"i am not gong to discuss the fate of that officer"

when asked about drugs/sex:
"i am not going to comment about the investigation"

when asked if he has any doubts with the official narrative:
"not going to comment on what i believe"

repeatedly stressed all department policies and regulations were strictly followed with regard to the toxicology draws

he does have some good points on the CA's exclusion list. power of the list, how it is used/applied. department should have some modicum of clarity here.

directly dodged the black-eye question. but it did sort of sound like maybe he did want to provide some context.

I just caught the tail end of the presser, a few Q & A. Not impressed.

Do you have a link to her comments? I’m behind so am sure it’s already been posted, sorry.

Thank you for sharing this info Betty P... it is most appreciated. I'm not sure where to look for the CA's statements about what she saw in the reports and probable cause statement. When you have a moment, would please be so kind to share what she says that make you inclined to think that drugs were involved? I'm trying to keep up to speed as new information is available, however have not yet found an article with the CA's comments. Do you know of any links/articles I might be able to read? Thank you again... most appreciated!
