Odd that the abduction occurred during a supervised visit... I wonder how that might have happened... Was the Visitation Supervisor physically overpowered by the mother? Did the Supervisor fall asleep during the visitation?

Why today though and why only the one child?

From her FB it appears she has two more children.

Not sure if the 2nd image of her was on an off day, but she seems to have changed quite a lot in the last few months.

ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) - A Lake St. Louis mother has been charged after she was accused of taking her 7-year-old daughter during a scheduled supervised visit Monday afternoon.

Police told News 4 Valerie Jean Baker, 35, had supervised visitation with 7-year-old Piper Johnson and her 9-year-old brother around 3:30 p.m. Monday. During the visitation, Baker allegedly shoved a caseworker and took Johnson. The boy got away during the incident and is currently with his grandparents. Baker sped off after allegedly shoving Johnson into a car. The Department of Social Services Children’s Division had court ordered legal custody of both children.

Baker’s car was last seen in Colorado near the Utah border Tuesday morning, according to St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar. He has charged Baker with interference with custody and assault fourth-degree. The Department of Social Services Children’s Division had court ordered legal custody of both children.

According to police, in November Baker rammed her parent’s house with her car in an attempt to kidnap the children. Police said they are very concerned for the girl’s wellbeing due to the mother’s erratic behavior.

wow her deep instincts to have her kids AT ANY COST is damn strong!
Scary... like a mama bear. Hope she gets the help she needs and I'm hopeful her kids heal from this quickly.

St. Charles County woman charged as police search for missing 7-year-old daughter | FOX 2

Investigators say Baker does not have custody because the state classified her as unfit.

“We dealt with her in the past,” Tiefenbrunn said. “The main reason custody was taken away was her erratic behavior and mental stability.”

“During this supervised visit, a DFS worker was present along with the grandparents. …During this visit, the mother pushed the DFS worker and made threats to the grandmother,”

Late Tuesday afternoon, the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged the woman with fourth-degree assault and interference with custody.

In the meantime, prosecutors say they did not charge Baker with more serious offenses like kidnapping and parental kidnapping because elements of the crime do not meet the threshold for those charges.

I’m hopeful this woman will be apprehended soon. Her vehicle has visible damage from the incident where she ran into the Grandparent’s home trying to get the kids. Poor little Piper must be so scared.
