PD official I was chatting with made a point about officers possibly suffering from PTSD after repeated cursing, spitting, yelling, etc. 1/2

2/2 during protests. What will the medical/mental repercussions be for police after this?

Get a clue. We've been saying this for weeks.

This just breaks my heart. If there is a person that can't feel for these officers, that put their LIVES on the line every day they go to work--they are heartless IMO!

Think about it. Every day you go to work, you wonder, "Am I going to be killed today?"
It's mostly a thankless job and these #### are making it a thousand times worse.

:gaah:

Haven't seen anyone 'interrupting' the football game yet.

Honestly, can you imaginie showing up for work being screamed at like this? No other job would allow such a thing. If your employer spoke to you like this, or your employer allowed your customers to speak with you like this, they can be sued for a hostile workplace. There is absolutely NO REASON why these people are continually being allowed to scream in officers faces, basically verbally assaulting them in the worst most vile ways for absolutely NO REASON. That is a human being they are speaking to that way. No one deserves that. I don't care what you think some other officer did to someone you have never met. There is no reason and no excuse. Nor is there a reason to disrupt people who are just going about their lives, trying to watch a football game, trying to get some groceries at Wal Mart, trying to just drive down the road.

So let's say we start setting up civilian watch groups that have input upon how cops interact with the public. And then you get some militants in charge of the group. On top of that you get a separate investigative unit, to overlook any cops use of force. How hard are the cops going to 'work' to stop any violent gang members? I saw what happened in LA after the riots. Entire neighborhoods were 'written off' by the LAPD. Their hands were tied by certain reforms. So they just backed off.

I'd hate for that to happen all over. If a cop cannot shoot return fire, at someone shooting at him, then who is going to want to take that job anymore?

Suggested new protest theme song*:

And it's 1 2 3
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a dayum
Next stop is Uncle Sam's (Walton, that is!)

And it's 5 6 7
Open up them auto doors
to all the Walmart stores
Well when LE sprays with gas grenades
Whoopee we're all gonna cry!
