So... wrong place, wrong time, freak accident? Or as the lawyers would frame it, inadequate barriers to prevent guests from wandering into work areas?

"Employees were breaking down hundreds of rental chairs that were on the lawn and throwing them toward a pedestrian walkway area known as “the moat,” the suit says. Some of chairs were sliding and bouncing, the suit says, and one hit Smith in the head as he walked through the moat, causing him to fall back and hit his head on the concrete walkway. "

I wonder how it hit him in the head? Poor man and his family.

That's terrible, how sad.

Employees were slow to provide medical care for Smith because they thought he was drunk, the suit says. He died the next morning at a hospital of a brain injury.

First they injure him, then they fail to help for him. Sounds like they tried to cover it up. JMO

Sad. They shouldn't have been slow to seek help for someone no matter what. People can die from alcohol intoxication, too.

Or an OD from opiates they could get the Narcan.

I assume they have a head-wound consistent with being hit by a chair. I wonder if defendant has admitted yet that he was hit in the head with a chair?

Who is the defendant? The company breaking down the chairs? A person working for the company who was the one who threw the chair? (And has admitted it?) I'm very confused.

Live Nation Entertainment is the defendant, according to the link above. They're the owners of the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, where the concert was held. Live Nation Entertainment is a very powerful company, its no wonder this lawsuit is dragging on for so long.

Live Nation must have a sweet deal with the City of Maryland Heights to have the city employees do the work of breaking down the chairs after the concert.

Live Nation has been known for bad safety issues. There's been at least 200 deaths since 2006 at Live Nation venues.
