Six month story update-
http://www.ky3.com/news/local/10162576.html

I am posting this on behalf of someone else.

The only links to Rene Williams I could find here were in one Caylee thread, but I think Rene Williams is a fairly common name.

This is an interesting story.

She went missing from Ava, Missouri on March 13, 2007 after leaving work. Her car was found later.

Foul place is suspected and she would have never abandoned her children (according to the link).

So pull our your Sleuthing hat, and lets look in to this.

Good on the local law enforcement for continuing to search, despite the age of the case and the fact that the suspect killed himself.

Douglas County authorities continue search for woman's remains

By Chad Livengood • [email protected] • August 10, 2009

AVA — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is continuing to search for the remains of a Mansfield woman two weeks after the suspect they arrested in Rene Marie Williams' death hanged himself in jail.

Sheriff Chris Degase said police have been searching an 80-acre field with cadaver dogs for the past two weeks where they have evidence to believe Williams' body was dumped by murder suspect Christopher E. Revak.

"We're in a very rugged and a very remote area," he said.

But police have found the underbrush of the undisclosed location too thick to comb. So they're sending a local farmer in to mow the brush down, with hopes that it will make the search easier.

. . .

Degase said authorities from at least two other states have contacted him and said they suspect Revak may have played a role in the death of three other women whose deaths date back 14 years.

. . .

Revak, who was an EMT for Taney County, led "somewhat of a double life," according to Degase.

"He's done a great job concealing that from his family and co-workers," Degase told reporters. "I mean, when you talk to them, this is something that is totally out of character for him."

. . .

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol have exhausted 320 man hours searching for Williams' remains in the past two weeks. They also have spent 30 hours using excavating equipment, to no avail, Degase said.

In 2007, Rene Williams, a 36-year-old bartender at the Eagles Lodge in Ava, went missing. Degase says investigators suspected Chris Revak of being involved but no body was ever found.

“We had his DNA at the scene. We had her DNA inside his truck. I think the biggest thing was that they weren’t able to find a body. They had no witnesses to come forward to say that she was dead,” he said.

However, with DNA evidence, Revak was arrested and charged with killing Williams. Degase says it wasn’t the first time Revak tried to abduct a woman in Ava. This caused him to further investigate.

Later, Douglas County Sheriff Chris DeGase interviewed Revak’s wife, (I removed her name), who said Revak had taken her to a hill behind their house where she claims to have seen Rene’s body lying on the ground. She also told DeGase that Revak threatened to kill her mom or sister if she didn’t help load Rene into a vehicle.
