Crime Stoppers Offers Reward for Missing Man

MISSING: The Springfield Police Department is investigating a report of a missing person and is asking for assistance from the public. The missing person is identified as RONALD J. BRIGHTWELL, a 35-year-old white male. He is approximately 175 pounds, 6 feet 1 inches tall, with brown hair, and brown eyes. Brightwell was last seen in November 2012, in Springfield, MO.

Brightwell went by the alias of “Chi Town” and “RJ”.

Information has been received which indicates Brightwell’s disappearance is suspicious. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477) or www.P3tips.com.

A Springfield man who has been missing since 2012 has been identified as the skeletal remains found by Barry County deputies on March 26, 2018, south of Jenkins. According to a Barry County Sheriff’s Office press release and Det. Doug Henry, the remains were of Ronald Jessup Brightwell, 35, of Springfield. The remains were located by a landowner in the rural Jenkins area after having been moved into a field by animals. With the remains were multiple jewelry items, including a blue NEFF brand rubber watch band, a silver bracelet and a silver ring that doubles as a bottle opener. Detectives said the watch itself was not found.

This is my brother. I'd like to get eyes on this again. The Barry Couty Sheriff's office recently received an anonymous tip on this case that he was in fact murdered. The caller knew my brother and wanted money to talk.
