Ruud (39/now 43), “mother” arrested & charged (8/21/17) & indicted (9/20/17) with 1st & 2nd degree murder, abuse of a child resulting in death, tampering with evidence & abandonment of corpse. Plead not guilty. Denied bond (10/16/18).
Bench Trial set to begin on 6/27/22 & ended on 6/30/22 before 31st Judicial Circuit Judge Calvin Holden in Green County in Springfield. Held beginning at 8:30 a.m. each morning Monday through Wednesday.

Following the arguments, Judge Holden, who was presiding over the bench trial, said he would take a few weeks to go over all the witnesses and the testimony. He said he would announce his verdict by 7/15/22.

*Robert Peat, Jr. (31/now 33) – Pretrial conference hearing on 5/18/21 was cancelled. Next hearing will be after Ruud’s trial.

I can see it, too -- no changes.

Monday will be the anniversary of the charges against Rebecca Ruud -- a fitting day for a verdict imho.

(I don't work for this court, or this county -- but my office is in another Courthouse so have some familiarity with the types of delays in these postings. )

Murder -- Rebecca Ruud Bench Trial in Greene County, MO U.S.A.

Defense closing arguments were heard today, June 30th., 2022... cutting through all the who did it and when, or why!

--Defense in collaboration with Rebecca Ruud, herself told the court that S. Lackie, died because she was in fact injured in the reported fire on July 18, 2017..

--Further to this the teen was kept in the camper trailer, isolated from others.. so no intent to seek medical intervention.

--The Teen died of her injuries, no idea exactly when, or what date?

--Rebecca Ruud admits to burning the teen's body in the burn pit (as per her legal reps)

--How Ruud and Peat, managed to burn the teen's body, so that only finger bone fragments and 13 teeths were discovered; is unknown!

--Again this is a troubling Defense at best.. The problem here is that neither Ruud nor Peat, are doctors and neither one can pronounced death.. and they had "No" authority to burn a human body!

--It is reasonable to understand, why they never sort medical treatment for the teen considering they did not have medical insurance for her.. and such would be costly.. But why conceal a body that you believe has no life?

--Further, why take it upon yourself to burn the body... then report the teen missing?

--Conclusion.. I have to agree with the judge here.. this is not a forgivable act!

The more we live the more we encounter insanity of phenomenal levels... in my wildest imagination.. I could not imagine Ruud, actually guilty of committing such heinous inhumane acts.. Very troubling! The prescribed medication picked up on July 19th., 2017.. was for herself!

Her name is Leckie.

I wonder if the verdict will be Guilty on some of the charges, and Not Guilty on other charges?

Murder 1st Degree

Abuse Or Neglect Of A Child - Resulting In Death - No Sexual Contact

Murder 2nd Degree - Felony Murder - During Perpetration/Attempted Perpetration/Flight From Perpetration Of Felony A Person Dies

Tampering With Physical Evidence In Felony Prosecution

Abandonment Of A Corpse


imho Abuse or Neglect, Tampering, and Abandonment will be Guilty verdicts.

Although I do think Savannah was murdered, I'm not sure that the evidence is enough for Murder 1?
