The fire department official said the body had been in the river for a while and due to the decomposition they were unable to determine a gender or race. There were also no identifying marks on the body.

The body was sent to the medical examiner’s office for further evaluation.

I'm calling Wood River PD to ask whether they're aware if this UID. Michelle supposedly was dropped off in Florrissant, MO "a couple months ago (May 2019)" and there was recent legal action regarding guardianship.

Can anyone help me figure out where this is located on the river?

I found this navigation chart, (Maps: Chester, IL - Cairo, IL) but from what I can see mile 73 is near Crawford Towhead, IL, which is not that close to St Louis, MO. I don't know if I'm looking at what I am supposed to, though.

Thanks, iulia! I went back to the article and found this "A St. Louis Fire Department official told News 4 the body was found before 8 p.m. by barge workers in the river near East Davis Street."

When I mapped it out on Google maps it's a reasonable 34 minutes away by car. I'm not sure how much time it would take a body in the river if she entered the water near Florrisant.

According to the detective at WRPD, Michelle has been located safe at a healthcare facility in Alton, IL. Great news for her and her family!

Unfortunately there still is a family out there without answers. So, let's keep sleuthing.
